Hey guys, I bought this when it was on sale for Steam a few weeks back.  I have prior experience with the Xbox version and although I'll be sad to see those terrible load times go, I'm really excited to get into the PC version.  I'm not too experienced with PC games in general, so I don't quite understand how mods work for games like this and if they have to be compatible through Steam or not.

If anyone knows of a good resource to get me started that would be great.  Also any cool quest mods to recommend?  I'm looking for some fun quests, not any almost-game-breaking superpower stuff.

There should be no problems with using the steam version.

Planetelderscrolls.com has a large amount of mods.
The official Morrowind Mod forum (http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/forum/12-mods/?s=9abe5faa8cebd3d62d6687987bceed18) is where most mods are released, and talked about.

It's been so long since I even looked at mods for Morrowind, and would also like to know what the must have mods are now.

Thanks guys.  I spent 45 minutes yesterday just trying to pickpocket this one guy, so I think the regular game will definitely keep me busy.  I'll have to check some of those mods out soon though.

This is what I was going to say. I really had a hard time getting into Morrowind (still do) but it's primarily because there is SO FUCKING MUCH to do and explore in comparison to other recent Bethesda games like Oblivion and Fallout 3 that I feel overwhelmed. If you run out of stuff to do in this game and are forced to download quests as a last result, you deserve a medal. Or some pills. Something.
