    I remember when I first picked up Oblivion on release 4 years ago. I also remember people who barely played video games talking about it, "OMG the graphics are so life like." and other golden quotes. Getting it home and installing it was awesome. Of course I made the mistake of looking at the Oblivion forums to see if there were any mods yet.

    There were... I think. I ignored them at first and played for a couple hours. Fast forward up to today. I still haven't beaten Oblivion.

    Only one reason for that, mods. I constantly followed them for a while before moving onto other things. I was always waiting for the newest release of some new mod that would greatly improve the game. It got to the point, before I stopped playing, that I was reading more about mods than playing. As I said earlier I eventually moved on to other pastures.

    The past couple of days I've had a horrible desire to play Oblivion. After re-installing it, I visited the Oblivion mod forums, and discovered something.  The scene hasn't changed, but I hope I have.

    This crummy little story brings up an interesting question, does anyone else on GB spend more time reading about things coming for a game than actually playing it?

    Okay, here's what you should do:

    1.) Buy Morrowind
    2.) Install Morrowind
    3.) Play Morrowind

    I was expecting a  differant topic abouts mods and I was going to make a witty comment about this getting locked. Oh well, but yes I read more about games than play them. In fact, I routinely spend more time in Forge mode (This is sorta on topic) than I do playing Halo.

    I spent 300 hours playing Oblivion and probably just as long reading about mods, learning how to make my own mods and just stopping and starting over and over again to get the mods to run right.

    I read more about games than I play them overall. I know about more games than games played easy.

    @Three0neFive:
     Same story. I first played Morrowind on the xbox, which I did not enjoy that much probably due to the very choppy fps in some areas, and cliff racers. I ended up putting it away. Finally got the PC version this past Christmas during the huge Steam sale. I just haven't gotten around to it. I feel like I have to play it with many mods from the awesome community that surrounds it, and I just don't have the time to figure them all out.

    @Feser:
    I've never been that big into Forge, except to mess around lol.

    @Claude:
    Right now I've been working on a FCOM install with Oblivion. Constantly reading up on things. The only problem is that while reading up on it I've stumbled across more and more mods that I would love to play with.

    @icyroy05:
    If I ever get into the modding community (which I doubt) it would be like me having a meth addiction. Not to brag, but I've made some pretty badass levels in forge. I thouroughly test each one, I try to make them dynamic, and occasionally I let my friends play on them. And forge does suck.
