Is there any way to get rid of the elder scroll? If it was only like 5 it would be ok to carry around, but a constant 20 extra weight is killing me.

If it's a quest item I'm pretty sure it doesn't actually count against your encumberance.

I literally just looked this up on the wiki, you can give it to the orc in the college of winterhold.

If you take everything out of your inventory, you'll see that quest items dont weigh anything bro. It is annoying however that there are like 10-15 items stuck in my inventory even though I've completed their related quests.

You can sell it at the Mage college at Winterhold.
