    Overview

The Mana World is a 100% free 2D MMORPG, with no ads, and no microtransactions. The source code for the game engine and client, as well as all assets (maps, music, art) are freely available online under the GPL license for anyone to use in their own projects. The game has been entirely developed by players themselves on a voluntary basis over the past 12 years and anyone can contribute in their own way if they wish to. All staff members (game masters, administrators, advisors) are unpaid volunteers elected by the community itself. Unlike other free-to-play MMORPGs, The Mana World operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and is supported by donations.

    Gameplay

    Players can:

    • Make their own unique character build by tweaking their Agility, Strength, Intelligence, Dexterity, Luck, and Vitality.
    • Wander around freely in a vast 2D open world.
    • Kill enemies or to level up their character.
    • Participate in PvP events at any place, any time.
    • Be social by chatting with other players, creating a party, or joining a guild.
    • Be fashionable by personalizing their clothes to their liking.
    • Solve quests to obtain experience or rare items.
    • Learn skills to fine-tune their gameplay style.
    • Learn powerful magic spells.
    • Take part in events organized by Game Masters or other players.

Anyone can wear any piece of equipment, use any skill, or cast any spell regardless of their class or gender.
