Witcher 2 vs Skyrim?
I think this is slightly biased by being in the Witcher 2 forum but still... Oblivion was a game I instantly loved, with The Witcher it still hasn't gelled with me yet. I've heard you need to put time in for it to click but I mean five ish hours in its not compelling me to play more. I go back sporadically though.
They're both kinda different games. I think I'll like the Witcher more, because I think the world will feel more immersive. Skyrim will probably be technically impressive, like Oblivion was in it's time, but relatively lifeless. That doesn't mean I won't enjoy roaming the open world of Skyrim, I just think I'll enjoy the story of the Witcher more. However, neither game is released yet, so we'll see.
These games aren't even anywhere near the same level for me. Hell, every other game might as well be some budget indie title when I compare it to Skyrim.
" Witcher 2 looks good, but I am anticipating it will have a lot of the foreign game jank. Is that a concept page yet? "Just like Skyrim will be good but it will have a lot of Bethesda Foreign (if you aren't American/racist) jank.
I'm excited for The Witcher 2 as well but calling it an underdog is a complete misnomer. Just for context, it's been in development for over 3 years and the dev team is bigger than Skyrim's. And it's been optimized for only one platform. CDProjekt are no paupers eithers, with gog.com being a big success over the last couple of years. They better deliver an outstanding game.

I'm more excited for skyrim but interested in both games. I really disliked Oblivion because of the autoleveling but Morrowind was one of my all time favorite games (Autoleveling is fixed now). I liked the witcher but I didn't think the writing was especially interesting and the game had lots of technical problems. They are very ambitious with the new Witcher and I have high hopes but from my gut feeling I would have to go with Skyrim :).
There isn't a choice, at my roots I'm an RPG whore, I wouldn't be able to live with myself if 2011 ended and I hadn't played both to a respectable degree.
