One Hell of an RPG
Keep in mind this is all personal opinion.
The Witcher 2 is a story driven RPG, that was released for PC and sadly is going to be released for Xbox some time whenever. I bought the game day one on steam and wasn't able to stop playing, the graphics are some of if not the best I've seen this year, and the story is not only captivating, but done right. There's alot of RPGs that try to factor in a good story, but then just do something terrible, IE: Dragon Age.
The original Witcher was an immersive game, but that said, lacked severely in the combat department, even with a decent story to drive it along, the combat was simply... terrible, but then again, maybe you enjoyed it, well congrats in that case.
The Wticher 2 improves on everything the first did, combat haas been amped up to make for a more visceral and enjoyable experiance, and the story has also taken a much more epic turn. The story is split into three chapters, the first being a seies of flashbacks that you are allowed to progress through as you see fit, and all in all it is an effective way of imersing the player as well as keeping the flow going.
The Witcher 2's story has been called a 'Mature Fantasy Story' and when i first heard that I laughed, because alot of game stories can claim to be mature then just flash a bit of tits and ass every now and then. The Witcher 2 is much bolder than that, opting for full on sex scenes, which could be considered immature, but are presented in such a way that they feel part of the story and not just some jerk-off time for the 13 year olds who convinced their mom to get it for them.
If i have one complaint about the game, it was how poorly optimized it is, with frequent CTD's and terrible frame rates (i have a new pc, built it myself and it runs everything else fine) i'm not sure if the recent patch fixed it, but I can only hope.
Aside from the technical errors, there is nothing I dont love about this game, I could drool over the graphics for days and the story renews my love of fantasy. While the combat is severely repetitive, it never gets old, and never feels out of place(just some assholes throwing swords at you cause the story can't progress until shit is dead kind of thing). So 4.5 for the witcher 2, and may CDProjekt continue making great games that exceed expectations. Play it, Buy it, best RPG this year. As far as I'm concerned, it could even knock out Skyrim.
