@OldGuy: Access had lots of problems beyond just genre issues. Currently 2K owns the Links rights. Aaron Conners & Chris Jones own the Tex Murphy rights About 2 years ago there were some rumors that Telltale was going to do a Tex Murphy game with them but plans changed.

And on the other side of the fence. 2K sports release arguably best version of their baseball and basketball game for pc day 1 at $20-30.
You know, over the past few years, it really seemed like EA was turning a corner. They were putting out creative, new IPs, they were taking chances and it seemed like the top "asshole corporation" spot was taken by Activision. But over the past few months, EA has been absolutely fucking awful. I'd like to think that this is just been a bad year for EA and they're not back to their old ways. But I'm losing a lot of faith.
Holy crap, I was just at Target not more than five minutes ago and was seriously considering picking this up. Thank fucking god I didn't waste my time with this.
@Alex damn, you just made me lose a long time argument with my cousin.
Going back to the heady days of my youth and NBA Live 95, I always insisted that the slogan being spurted from my Genesis via my ancient TV was 'EA Sports: It's in the game!'
Whereas he always insisted it was 'EA Sports: We're a bunch of cunts!'
Now I have to call him and tell him he was right :(

so since the game shipped without a bunch of features listed on the site and the ads, couldn't EA be held legally responsible for false advertising? god I hope so.
...seems like it would certainly make sense!
I just hope that when I fire up Respawn's first game, I won't be greeted with the EA profile sign-in and micro-DLC.
@Sander: EA Sports, I can see. They're relentlessly churning out crap non-stop to keep pace with each new season for far too many sports they simply can't handle, but EA as a whole? Not even remotely bad as Activision. EA spends tons of money on original IPs, treat established IPs with a ton of care and allow outside developers to build the game they want through the EA partners program. Compare that to Activision, who practically revels in exhausting their developers by making them recreate the same game on a one or two year cycle until they kill a genre and move on then fire their ass as if it was the devs fault. It's like groundhog day working for Activision before they fire you. And note I'm not holding the IW thing against them though. That's what happens when greedy assholes square off against self-righteous, arrogant assholes intent on taking down "the man". In eight years those two pricks will pull this shit yet again on EA.
In actuality, this game was probably developed by about four guys from Tiburon in about three months time. Should've never been released.
