Meh... I never had high hopes for the game. =/

At LEAST rent the game if you were interested before you read the reviews...don't let the reviews completely turn you away from playing the game.
I'm still picking this up today. my favorite game so far this generation has a metacritic rating of 68. I've played the demo, I don't need somebody's else's opinion to tell me how to feel about a game I've played myself. Besides, I wasn't exactly expecting positive reviews after Dyack basically challenged the enthusiast media to either 'put up or shut up'. One of the biggest problems with paid reviews is that games who don't bribe their way to positive reviews tend to get slammed. Maybe if there had been a few dozen Too Human 'giftbaskets' handed out these scores would be a bit more positive, know what I mean?
"I spent 2 hours downloading the demo and then spent 45 seconds playing it before I decided I didn't want it."Lack of patience = FAIL. I played through the demo twice & liked it even more the second time through. I'm going to be getting this game from Best Buy this week..perhaps today. I'm easy to please, but I liked the graphics, the setting, the stats, the controls are weird, but it didn't take long to figure out & after that, it was Nirvana (err..Valhalla).
"Are you an idiot? The ignorant keep saying "It took 10 years" to make. Your Lack of Research = FAIL.you can fall throguh the ground in a game that took 10 years to make?
Thats the equivalent of being able to wall hack in Duke Nuken Forever.

"Apparently that is what this game is....how sad. I hope the ppl at Ngeo or whatever the fuck that site was kills Dennis dyack for this one.For shame. I really wanted to like this game. Really hoped it would bring something fresh.

Aside from a steaming pile of fecal matter, that is.
I played the demo and was not only NOT impressed, I was out and out put off by what I experienced. Honestly, the game is ugly, and the combat fails to be more compelling than a button masher. The concept was cool and there was some promise there, but I'll only be renting this one (if anything).
"theres plenty of pretty high scores in there, whats everyone complaining about?"namely?
So far, I'm enjoying this game only played for an hour and a half so far.
Looking at all the review scores, I've been kinda puzzled as to why metacritic translates 1up C- to a 42 on their rating scale. This lower mark, from what is surely a higher weighted outlet, must be dragging down the metacritic average making it a 68 instead of in the low 70s. Any thoughts on this or does it really matter?
Its interesting to see how many people are defending the game though ( I mean game journalists and dev's not forum folk )
I am only through half of the game so far, but am finding the story to be pretty interesting and definitely a good motivator to keep playing. On top of what is so far a good story, loot and customization are also a lot of fun. I truly do not understand how anyone can give this game a 5.5 rating. I'm not trying to start an argument nor am I trying to convert anyone; just simply stating that in my opinion this game is no where near a 5.5 and should be rated much closer to an 8.0.
Fortunately plenty of people have decided to make their own determinations about this game and have gone out and purchased it despite all of the negative comments that are being made. I think that this game will remain strong as well as create a strong support for a sequel that I hope will be received a little better than this first installment.
sorry but after a couple hours of play time, I can't see how this game scored below a 7 by anyone calling themselves a major review outlet. I can see where some people may be erked a bit by some tech aspects or menu management but overall this game delivers. Gamespots 5.5 was totaly uncalled for and I think they're pretty much becoming the laughing stock of the review world.
Well, I'm enjoying the game. I just watched the Fox Gamers Weekly review and they didn't care for it. (bad camera, repetitive, boring story, etc.) The reviews have been very mixed. I do have to comment on the "bad camera" comments we've seen in reviews. I played though the demo and am about 2 1/2 hours into the game. The camera isn't perfect. However, if you switch to iso mode it works relatively well. In the standard mode I did have times I couldn't see what I was doing. However, that's does happen occasionally in any game where you don't control the camera (GoW: Chains of Olympus for the PSP is a fun game but it occasionally has those issues as well.)
