I busted my ass trying to get to the end of this game on the Amiga all those years ago - finally did it one day, killed the final boss, was running out of the ship on the countdown and on the very last corner got STUCK IN A WALL thanks to some stupid bug. Had to watch the clock tick down, victory inches away, while I flailed around helplessly.

I used to love my C64, but I also used to covet my mate's Amiga. Alien Breed was a great game.

Dated gameplay, big guns, generic non-human enemies and badass looking characters  = big sales. Truthfully, though... I'd buy it. I prefer games of this nature and scale, but a little more style couldn't hurt.

So why isn't this Smash TV 2?  Even if it was a ripoff of STV it would at least be more interesting than generic dudes shooting generic aliens.

Yeah, that's what it reminds me of as well.  They just released a zombie killing XBL game that seems to be similar to this, but duller.
