Haven't we kind of past the point of effective trailer usage for Run This Town?

@rufshod: I would love to get a bad co. 3 but I really want to go back to WWII with the new frostbite engine, the Vietnam pack for bad co. 2 was amazing.. and I really love those older weapons.

I love how the Battlefield theme gets more and more distorted with each game.

i love battlefield. its one of my favorite series. im just disappointed they went with the whole modern day thing.

a cybertech battlefield woulda been amazing. battlefield 2142 was pretty damn badass.

i'll probably get it and enjoy it, but i'd just rather use a wacky future space rifle than an M4 for the 500th time.

Numbered Battlefields are only reversed for games after an engine revision. This looks very similar to BF3 in both style and function. I reckon the multiplayer (which is what people come to BF for) is just going to be BF3 with better looking polys on new maps ala premium expansions. Hell ,even that knife stabbing animation is the same. I've already clocked 542 hours on BF3 MP and this just looks like more of that same-old only. Nothing meaningfully new. I can see why this can come out so early.

I guess it looks kind of pretty at times, but single player is not what anyone wants from Battlefield. Missed opportunity to debut a new Battlefield properly, yet again. :\

Slow clap to DICE, what a brilliant gameplay demo, the graphics jump is way higher than I expected. They are still the leaders in sound design as well. The characters faces look awesome and that building falling apart, man so hyped.

As long as they keep the releases of this series bi-yearly instead of yearly I'll be fine with it. But the second they go yearly I'm out. I don't support ActiVi$ion and their money grab scam so it'll be a cold day in hell that I take it from EA of all fucking companies.

That said the game itself looks good. Some of you guys seriously need a reality check. Of course it's going to have a campaign, of course they're going to lead with it, and of course nobody really gives a fuck about it. But you save the good stuff, the stuff that matters, for something more important than a random announcement trailer... like maybe E3. Jesus Christ, remove the very large sticks from between your buttocks please. Lighten the fuck up.

Well that was ridiculous, I watched an ad only to watch it again since the ad was basically the trailer. Goodness.

Looks like battlefield but with the over the top craziness it feels like a Call of Duty. graphically it looks stunning but It just feels like a shooter we've all played before. I think I'm just done with modern military FPS games.

"Prepare 4 battle" .. really? I really wish they hadn't done that.
(Game looks cool though, but I'm a sucker for Battlefield)

The 17 minute demo looks absolutely stunning. Sure it's more of the same bla bla... but it's what a lot of people have been expecting with true "next gen" shooters, and it looks like it delivers. Too bad it's just the single player campaign, which 75% of fans won't even play. Really curious how good it will look in multiplayer-particularly the destructible objects.

Wow, this trailer is complete trash on the level of your typical summer blockbuster movie. But the game they're showing off looks good.

I had watched the 17min version and just assumed that you guys were joking about this having rihanna in it. Ah.

I was stunned when I saw the vista with the birds. That lookmed amazing.

And guys, do you really have to bitch and moan about everything? It's a military shooter. I ain't a fan personally but this looked hella good! All games are not for everyone. And your precious multiplayer will be shown in advance before the game is released. I garantee it. It's not like Dice skimped ont he multiplayer i FB3 just because they had a campaign. We often don't get to see this much from a first announcement so this was quite a treat compared to a teaser.

It's an okay trailer, with the exception of that god awful music.

Thankfully they had the sense to put out the gameplay video at the same time, which looks pretty interesting, much more so than 3. Still, I won't be happy until I see the multiplayer because at the end of the day that's what all sane people are interested in.

For those saying it's too soon, Dice have released a new Battlefield every 2 years since the start. The only difference here is that it's a numbered game, which is just typical of modern marketing techniques. The only disappointment is it's another modern military shooter.

I think I'm having "epic moments" in games fatigue. Which is bad, since where else can these games go. I've reached a point where fighting while a building collapses around me is old hat.

Very good looking game, but I'm getting tired of killing fellow humans. Have zero interest in realistic war scenarios unless its purpose is to portray an anti-war sentiment. More fighting aliens, zombies, other non-humans; fantasy is much more enjoyable and acceptable.

That ambulance was pretty water tight, especially after a 5 minute barrage of helicopter fire !

That was my exact experience too. I'm surprised they didn't run with the Bonnie Tyler track in the trailer.

All through that 17-min video from the second he first appeared I was like "Is it Omar? No. Yes. No. Yes."

He does have a very distinctive voice, it must be said. Although that line read when they are stuck behind cover was particularly bad "Flank Him. I. Will. Cover. You."

Watched the 17 minute gameplay video and am not interested. Not really surprised how similar it looks to BF3 because I wouldn't expect them to re-invent the wheel, but as a result I'm also not excited. It's pretty and seems totally competent, but I'm just bored with military shooters for the time being; I was never able to get myself to play more than the first mission of Battlefield 3's campaign. Seems like it's well enough put together that the fans should enjoy it, though. Probably the best way to draw me in would have been if this was Bad Company 3, and not just Battlefield 4.

Seriously, I don't even care what they do with it; every DICE-made multiplayer game I've played has been great and completely bananas. I just don't see why they want me to watch scripted helicopter crashes, when I've seen a jeep and a heli crash mid-air in multiplayer, knowing that everyone who saw it just mentally high-fived.

Watched the long version. All I can say is...hope Respawn's game or Bungie's game turn out to be cool. Aside from the audio/visual upgrades, this is the same old shit.

The 17 minute thing was so boring. Only bits that I found exciting were the beginning of the video then the part where the dude almost gets sliced up by the chopper. Other than that it was more of the same.

I really think they should just ditch the campaign stuff because they're obviously going down the Call of Duty route of "lets put this out every two years", which doesn't leave much time for development. I feel like the games have never really been all that good multiplayer-wise since they started putting campaigns in their game, probably because they don't have enough time left over for multiplayer.

Battlefield 3 felt like a big improvement over the Bad Company series but there were, and still are, a ton of bugs in the game. This game looks like it's just going to be a fixed version of the previous game considering that DICE didn't bother to patch a lot of broken crap in 3. I was really unimpressed with this reveal though, I was atleast expecting a different style but the same guns and jeeps have been shown - the jeeps don't even have working speedometers either, then you've got the SUV at the end that does have a working speedometer, whats the point in that?

No reason COD won't up their player count too. Doubt it'll be 64 though, doesn't fit with the style of game.

I don't know why everyone is hating on this, probably because they think it is cool to. But this trailer was pretty awesome - and that's coming from someone who was done with BF3 a long time ago, and hasn't cared about shooters since.

This looks like they were making another MoH game then just changed the name to BF4.

Sure its more shinier version of Battlefield 3, but its not a huge upgrade when it was from Bad Company 2 to Battlefield 3.

Also I can't seem to care about singleplayer at all. Its all scripted environment with destructions... They should of completely drop singleplayer and focus on rich multiplayer experience because thats what Battlefield should be all about.

Im just done with this genre for a few years i think, this just doesnt do anything for me anymore.

Only thing I got from this trailer was, "Man I bet the new Dragon Age is going to look great on Frostbite 3."

I only just started thinking about grabbing Battlefield 3 but I'm very turned off by being an army man shooting army mans.

The gameplay in these games always looks fantastic though I just wish they had some charm.

17 minutes of single-player footage. Yeah, EA, that's what we want out of a Battlefield game.

I know they are trying to appeal to the mainstream consumer with the single player demo, but even the people that I know that I would call casual gamers never even bothered with the single player portion of BF3. I almost positive none of the people on my friends list even made it past the first mission. Maybe they think MP wouldn't make a good trailer but I disagree, tanks, jets and helicopters blowing up always makes for good entertainment.

DICE has been amazing with Battlefield 3 (at least on the PC, I can't speak to the console version, that's not where I do my Battlefielding), the End Game DLC was stupid good, and all of their post-launch support has been pretty much nail-on-the-head.

People just like to hate things, that's the internet I guess. This look great, either you like what Battlefield brings to the table, or you don't, but personally, I'm in.

That engine is showing of some sick graphics though! Damn! Underwater in the car? You kidding me? That did look sick! And guys they gotta show single player like COD does, it's what a larger demographic wanna see!

edit: Saw a bit of the longer demo and it seems like Michael K. Williams (Omar) is in the game. Well, crap, no wonder the voice work sounded so good.
