Almost every single important feature of Civ 4 is fundamentally different in some way.   Civ 5 is going to be more different from Civ 4 than Starcraft 2 will be from Starcraft.

Maybe I shouldn't be so quick to judge. As someone who only plays the occasional game or two vs AI on the easiest difficulty, I noticed minimal differences between 3 and 4. I'd imagine it'll be the same here for me when I pick this up during a Steam sale in a year or two.
 
Regardless, looks good for what it is, and cool that they seem to be doing what their fans want them to do.

nice i can't wait, still hoping the GTX485 is announced before this game hits, i have an 8800GT that's starting to show its age 
 
plus then i can put it to good use on Rage and every other shiny PC game i want for the next couple years  =)

You can't stack military units anymore that alone completely changes how the game will be played.
