E3 2018: Measure Your Worth in Fire Emblem: Three Houses

In all seriousness the whole wife/husband relationship building was the funnest part of Awakening and I hope there's a similar system in this one.

I'm cool with that stuff coming back, as making the supports more intuitive/doable was good and I also enjoyed it, but please no kids. Please don't contrive some reason for the kid characters again.

Yeah, same, in Fates especially they really forced the kid thing.

And having played earlier entries in the series, I also really miss same-sex supports that were just pleasant camaraderie. Every support in Awakening/Fates was generally male-female, and was the basis of a romantic comedy, which if you only took to A-level just kinda doesn't resolve, and if you take to S-level they profess their love. Very few characters got "friend" supports other than the main create-a-character since they're the only character who can just support anybody. Also, even the main character only really gets to be friends with characters of the same sex; every support they have with members of the opposite sex is clearly a romantic setup.

They devs have certainly done worse. The Wii Fire Emblem had basically no custom support conversations, just generic dialogue where they inserted whoever's name, and that was dreadful. But I'm getting tired of 90% of the supports just being the lead up to romance. It's so lopsided. I'd like them to do a better job of writing in some support conversations that are just like charming friendships of two people who seem like they wouldn't get along. But who knows, I'm sure the fans must fucking love this recent focus on in-game shipping.

Fire Emblem finally gets another console release? can't tell you how happy I am right now.
