It's another Avengers lose a giant battle and everyone blames them for the destruction then we jump ahead five years episode... plus a bonus of 'Civil War' government regulation banning superheroes...

People know you could just tell a straightforward superhero story, right? You don't need that big post disaster motif. You don't need to outlaw superheroes. I remember when that was only an X-men thing. Yeah. A bit hypocritical to only outlaw mutants, but that was part of it. Now ever since Millar's crappy Civil War event series, so many Marvel stories are about outlawing superheroes. We can't go back to just having Avengers and Marvel heroes fighting villains.

@pm_xenos: I think that Switch game will have you covered on Super Heroes being Super.

My question is, if they have some form of it playable on the show floor, then why didn’t they show that? Also maybe it’s just all of the cool games showing this year, but Avengers looks bland as hell.

@ungodly: just a guess, but if it’s on the show floor and they didnt put it in the conference it’s probably either extremely janky looking or buggy. Or both!

@homelessbird: That’s what I’m thinking too. They must not be comfortable with current build

I like that they didn't try for similar actors or likeness of the movie actors. This at least can seem fresh even if they screw it up, at least it can screw up on their own terms. They certainly have some great voice actors, let's see if the director in the booth let's them shine.

If you want likenesses you have to pay oodles of money. And plenty of those guys are commanding ridiculous payouts at this stage.

Seeming to be the E3 of cinematic trailers. Don't know why developers think these trailers impress gamers, we want gameplay more than anything.

Especially weird here, considering Square Enix had some lengthy gameplay demos in this very press conference.

But it's a "completely original story." Which I guess is code for "we're cribbing from a bunch of already existing stories to make a mishmash we can call our own no matter how messy it is."

I'm sure this is just a case of unfortunate timing, but anyone who's even remotely interested in this game just saw a movie that features the Avengers suffering a major defeat, dealing with mass casualties, and having to pick up the pieces five years later.

As much as I like some of the actors they cast I sort of wish they could have gotten some of the voice cast from the Earth's Mightiest Heroes cartoon, which might still be my all-time favorite portrayal of the Avengers outside of comics.

Just me, or does Cap look like a fat guy holding in his gut in the thumbnail for this? The bulky suit isn't helping for sure.
