E3 2019: The Saturn Classic Panzer Dragoon Gets a Full-On Remake

Hell yeeeeeah

It's a rail shooter, didn't we all decide that was not worth our time several generations ago? Nostalgia pandering has gone too far!

naw. The actual game for xbox looks really good...thats the strange thing. Xbox pics dont do late gen games justice given the time period and methods of capture mixed with things looking better in movement due to low fps etc. The remake (if its not just my nostalgia.) looks lackluster. They also did a bad job at showing what makes the game good. You switch between dragons one faster but weak one strong with different projectiles and homing abilities etc. You also go through some gorgeous locals. Its a good game. Check the reviews at the time. (90/100 on metacritic...much higher than other games like anthem, destiny or other popular games for this generation. That said...i dont think those interested want a remake in an open world or something. Its just updating for masses and an update out of pure love. The bank isnt being broken for this.

@topcyclist: uhhhh... that's Panzer Dragoon Orta, bud. It was actually the 4th Panzer Dragoon game. This new one is a remake of Panzer Dragoon ONE. The game for the Sega Saturn. That looked like this:

The remake looks like a massive upgrade and I can't wait. PD is a very simple game, but Zwei has also been confirmed, and that has me significantly more excited.

@heyitsdale: ok. cool. didnt know that. Was confused cause the trailer was not as clear as i hoped. I heard the first game or something was a classic on saturn. anyway the xbox version is great. I think there is still room for every genra of game. We leave money on the table when developers think people only want battle royal, fps, open world, action rpgs, sports, etc. Games like minecraft, etc come out and prove them wrong...
