Actually, who am I kidding. Sonic has been long dead to me. Not only have the games been terrible for years, the fan base has been consumed by furries and people with Asperger's syndrome.

Unleashed was decent, but Sonic Colors was actually really fun to play. But whatever~

They have the worst Graphic Designer EVER. But yeah, that didn't look bad.

On a loosely related note, are they still pretending that Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is getting more episodes? Episode 1 came out a full year ago. Seriously, it doesn't take a year to make 4 zones.

@mcnorhymes: The eras are "Classic" - 16 bit, "Dreamcast" - Adventure/Heroes, and "Modern" - 2006 on, with 3 levels for each

The GiantBomb community needs to wise the fuck up. This is the best Sonic game potentially ever, and certainly since the 3D era, whether you like Modern Sonic or not. Watch the trailers, watch the leaked footage, watch the gameplay demos and you'll see you are not being bullshitted and nothing is being hidden from you. This is being refined to the extreme. Prepare to be very, very surprised.

Stop being comfortable in your preconceived ideas about how Sonic is or was. You're wrong, and this game will prove it.

I hated Sonic 4 and wasn't big into Sonic Colors. So I guess I'm just over this series.

The remixes of old themes are great though.

It should also be known that it is also kind of my job to review games like this, but that I am legitimately interested in Sonic Generations and seriously think it will be an enjoyable game, based on the assumption that I thought Sonic Unleashed on the 360 was pretty good and Sonic Colors on the Wii was actually, no fooling, a genuinely fun game, with no "But..." attached to that.

So disregard the demo then? This isn't a rhetorical question, or...well it is, but I would still like an answer.

@RockmanBionics: Definitely. The demo is hugely outdated, and was released with plenty of time left in the development cycle. Green Hill Zone (along with the other stages) has been refined, and Sonic's physics - such as his jump height, which is slightly less heavy - are now more 1:1 with the Genesis games. Previews have confirmed this, players at expos have confirmed this.

As I said in the previous post, watch the gameplay footage/trailer/leaked footage (which I won't point you to). I know you're probably not hyped enough for this game, though.

@itsjoncharles: Well that's at least good then, what I remember the most from that demo was the framerate and jumping being terrible. Now, I played all of Colours and thought the jump in that game was awful, among some other control and design related things, but overall it had sound ideas and was occasionally, really fun.

This game wasn't on my radar, and it still really isn't, but I'll give it a Quicklook to convince me once it comes out.

I've never played a Sonic game but this looks like it could be fun. I do not know if I will buy it though. Maybe
