This reminds me how GB did a retro quick-look at Stronghold, and I was pretty funny.  I'm glad they kept to the puny announcer voice for this installment.

I loved the first game. Others not so much, but this could be good. However, its still a 3d rts so that makes it lose 1 star in my book.

I did love the first game, but as a modern game this looks questionable.

I hope there's an economy-only campaign. I don't care much for fighting, I just wanna build stuff ^^

Its no Defender of the Crown for the NES.

It seems like they were interested in making a game that only looked like an improvement in comparison to the original without any particular ambition of making it compare favorably to actual modern strategy games.

why are they talking to a single sex, by saying "you will be next boy" it is canceling out a potential demographic.

Hopefully the combat isn't an abomination this time like it was in Stronghold 2.

Did anyone feel that the trailer felt budgety? I don't know what it is, but it felt like something an amateur puts together.

I really hope they don't over-do themselves this time around. I really want them to focus on every aspect and make a definitive release that I will play for hours on end just like the first. If its a repeat of Stronghold 2...well, pass.

Because I am pretty sure a man of his stature wouldn't be caught saying "girl" when this games timeline is based in. Not saying its 100% full proof history, but it really doesn't change much if he did anyway.

I hope their editor is as awesome as the first one. I love making huge awesome castles then trying to take them down with a massive army, all in the editor.

I love the Stronghold games, and am REALLY pleased to see they are sticking to a lot of the same design and not letting 3d change how the game works. Cant wait.

okay first of in the storyline you are a man, a young man. and secondly i dont think that that many woman became lords and took on military status for the kings or queens army back in the middle age

They should have stuck with 2D. The first Stronghold was gorgeous, and with more detailed, more well-animated, perhaps hand-drawn sprites this could've looked fucking amazing. Instead it's just... meh.

Thanks to Drew for making me aware of the Stronghold games. I'm liking this so far. Sure the 2D had a certain charm to it, but this looks fine.

So far this looks kinda bad.

Where are the cool castle defenses?

Why are the enemy trebuchets in the video firing right next to the castle?

Everything looks way washed out, you can barely notice dudes on the walls.

I love the look of the polygonal graphics,  the grubbiness of the sprites has been retained.

Can't believe people missed out on Stronghold 1.

Drew is excited about this I bet.

As long as it is better than that pile of shit that was Stronghold 2, I'm in.
