Looks great but since i only have a PS3 i won't be able to enjoy much of it because like past Bethesda games it will completely break and be unplayable for 1-2 months until they "fix" it. It's really a shame i never got to finish FO:NV or Skyrim because of those game breaking problems. I tried to go back to Skyrim after they "fixed" the problem but was still unplayable :-/

Maybe i should just suck it up and buy a 360.

@Brandino: This is using Unreal Engine 3, not Gamebryo/Creation Engine. You have (less) to worry about.

That's a fault of the engine that Bethesda games use (Gamebryo) combined with the PS3's less-than-stellar available system memory (256 MB vs the 360's 512). It's not really something that *can* be fixed by a magic update, just alleviated somewhat.

But you're in luck! Dishonored does not, in fact, use the Gamebryo engine! Bethesda's not even developing it! Which doesn't necessarily guarantee its bug-lessness, but it will most likely work a hell of a lot better than Skyrim.

I wonder if this game will have a good pc version or is it going to be a half ass port. If it's going to have actual custom pc settings that would make it look good I would get it for pc. If it's going to be some bull crap darksiders 2 pc port I already fell for that once this year. I might just get it for 360 then.

@blackthunder: I have a little faith in the PC version, considering Arkane Studios' pedigree and Harvey Smith of the original Deus Ex is involved. We'll just have to wait and see, but I think there's a good chance that they won't outright disrespect the PC crowd with a lackluster port.

Even a game like darksiders 2 is way better on PC, regardless of port quality.

I really like that last guy.

I mean, it's just true. There are two ways to become successful. One, is you CONVINCE people what you have is awesome, and hope they don't think too much about it. They'll just know other people are talking about it, and subconsciously want to be a part of that, so voila! They accept it. That's how Apple is successful, with their core demographic of 2-4 million blind hipster fanboys who don't know jack shit about technology. The OTHER way to become successful is to just make something so awesome that it gets the attention it deserves from people who genuinely recognize talent. I'm SUPER glad to hear they're shooting for the second one ;)

Everything about Dishonored, except maybe the style of the people (they're a tad too stylized - it's veering towards grotesque in some cases), is fresh and cool-looking and different. Easily, it's my most anticipated game of the holiday season. Take your military shooters and shove 'em up your asses. With games like Borderlands 2 and Dishonored out there this year, I REALLY hope Call of Duty isn't, once again, the best selling shooter - and game, period - of the year. God that would be depressing.

I tend to loath these types of videos. These are actually interesting developers who have been around for a long time in the industry, and it's nothing but a fluffy press package just to pump out the same on tone talking points.

Damnit. Around same time last year I had no trouble spending days/weeks playing through a whole bunch of games, like Resistance 3, Batman - Arkham City and Uncharted 3 to mention a few, but now...there's Borderlands 2, MoP, this, Hitman - Absolution and god knows what else, but only so little time...cruel world.

With that being said, this is becoming more and more harder for me to resist. The visual style alone is so inviting. Last one with that effect on me has probably been Bioshock, at least on the FPS-front.

Which game are you going to load up first? Personally, XCOM is a must-buy for me, but I am very very interested in Dishonored as well. I just feel silly buying two games on the same day, but I probably will... (glad i didn't get borderlands 2 at this point).

I'm in the same boat. I have both on order at different online stores outside the country. Whichever game makes it here first wins lol.

Those are the 3 games I (...and to be honest, everyone else) am certain to buy.

Already got Borderlands. Just a long 3 weeks 'til Dishonored and XCom.

I will probably have a dabble wih this, even if it doesn't quite deliver because props to them for clearly putting their heart into a game. For me that really does go a long way and even if the end product doesn't quite nail the potential available, putting some money up for the developers efforts will be a good way to thank them and open up the chance for bigger and better to come in sequels.

I still have doubts about the game, but I agree with most of this. It's great to see a game willing to take risks in gameplay and art design. I love military and SF FPSs, but they do all blend together after awhile. I have a feeling Dishonored will end up a lot like the first Assassin's Creed game--lots of risk, lots of potential just not quite nailed perfectly. But it'll still be an amazing experience that will mature in sequels. And, of course, I could well be wrong--the game may well be superb as is. It certainly looks amazing.

The game looks nice, but everything I've seen just suggests that you're too powerful and are never in any real danger. It's more about how you want to win than if you can get through it.

We poke fun at marketing interviews with developers, but the game looks awesome. I hope there's an achievement for recursive hoodies.

As awesome as this game look, nobody except one of my close friends (10 ish ppl) who play games are going to buy this. Why? It's released two days before X-com.. And lets face it, who would choose this gimmick over a classic game remade by Firaxis themselves?

I feel the same way about marketing, dev. diaries and such as amny as you ppl. do. So I haven't checked out the video, contenting myself with the comments, what ppl. here think...at least for this. Like many of you say, the game has to speak for itself now.

Unlike a few though, I have no loyalty or such to X-Com but may get an interest as I hear about it over time.

I really am looking forward to this game. It just looks so original and different over the Halos and Call of Duty games we're always getting.

However, I've already done a pre-order for Assassins Creed 3 which comes out October 30, and since I'm on a tight budget on how I can spend my money, I plan to buy Dishonored in November. Either way, I'm excited.
