Except both games produce gameplay that cannot be duplicated in each other.  And as much of a Total War fan I am, if this game still has incredibly bad path finding in towns and forts, I'd call Creative Assembly pretty lazy in fixing that as well.

I foresee this game taking a massive dump on my CPU. 
 
The idea of Total War is awesome, it's just too bad that I suck horribly at it as no matter what I do, my army gets obliterated. This looks awesome though, so I might have to include the utter destruction of feudal Japan to my long list of military follies.

Units blobbing into each other indiscriminately due to extremely poor AI pathing, yawn. Total War was cool back in 2003 and 2005, but it hasn't evolved at all since then. Just a reskinning of the same poor AI that can't negotiate simple fences.

Total War: the game where by the time you upgrade your computer enough to play it on max settings (excluding AA) it already looks awful in comparison to other games coming out. 
 
Sooo many beautiful units. Is that motion blur new to the franchise? I wish Mount & Blade looked half this good.

How is this different then the other Total War games?  Its just better looking then the last.  So who has Zero vision, the team that just makes the same game only better looking or the team that makes a better looking game?

Yeah, that's kinda my sense too. I've never been satisfied with siege battles either. Units never navigate the walls properly. 
 
As others have said, why are they going back to feudal Japan? They should go nuts and do a fantasy setting. Heroes of Might and Magic with RTS combat.

Try playing Starcraft II before you say such things. 
Starcraft and this have very different play styles.
Between the two, I prefer the way SC II feels. I feel more in control. But y'know, that's just my opinion.

That would be a crippling move. It would alienate the majority of their loyal fanbase and demographic of the Total War franchise.     
 
Unless you're saying they should start a new franchise under a different name then yeah that would work.

They need the engine from Napolean Total War combined with the music of Rome and then add a robust mission system.
