@Soap  The demo is pretty long.  The Quick Look was over 40 minutes, and they didn't even finish playing it.  You could get about 30 to 75 minutes depending on how much exploration you do.

How ironic that they cut a bunch of places and then release a trailer about all the locations you can visit. 
 
 @Ataxia: Tokyo is about 3-4 times what they showed in the demo. Okinawa is smaller, though it's larger than Osaka was in part 2 I believe.

It's 3 places. And it seems possible that the shogi dens, mahjong parlors, and este place are cut as well. With no hostess clubs to go to, what does it mean for the stores that only sell items for you to gift to the hostesses? I guess they could keep them in, but I can't see what you'd do with anything you buy, except sell it at a loss. Which brings up another point. What about all the stuff you find in coin lockers that's meant to be gifted? Pawn shop fodder too? But with no hostesses to spend money on, you're going to be rolling in dough throughout the game.

@soap - Clearly you have never played either of the previous games otherwise you wouldn't be asking that question.  Based on Yakuza 1 and 2 the game will last at least 20+ hours...longer if you get into doing side activities/exploring more.

Who cares that they cut the hostess clubs? They are weird places that weird people go. And a Japanese history quiz? Oh yeah I'll REALLY miss that.

Yeah, breaking people's faces is pretty awesome...still, having extra stuff that you could do would lengthen the amount of time i spend with the game. Or not.

I am so happy to see people upset about the content cut in so many different places, it does make me feel good inside, it's so damn insulting yet convoluted of Sega of America, "wouldn't resonate" my ass, there is a deeper darker truth to it.  Especially with its release window, its coming out in such a competitive time and they just pissed off their main fanbase, who are most likely the ones going to buy it day one. Bad times.
 
Anyway, not here to moan about that, looking forward to it!...butchered or not. oops. Man i was looking forward to club management so bad.

So, all I've ever played of Yakuza is the recent Yakuza 3 demo. I gotta wonder, is this what it looks like? Just a Tekken/Shenmue mix? If there's enough stuff to do in it, maybe I can get behind this, but everything from the horrible singing in that song to the awkward as hell walking animation make me want to stay far away from this game. I feel like this game was supposed to come out in the late 90's/early 2000's. ...Not now.

People care that Sega cut content in general. It's likely a lot more than just the hostess clubs.

@Milkman: Because people want to see SEGA as some big gaming devil that lives only to ruin games because they live in some black and white fantasy world. I also could care less about the things they cut out.

Sucks that they removed content, but this is still one of the best games on the PS3 so I'm still buying the US release.
