What are some good games based on Vikings? I've been watching a lot of the History channel show and its left a desire for a Norse mythology type game. Any good ones out there?
Good games based on Vikings
Vikings battle for asgard
It's not the best game ever, but I had a pretty damn fun time beating it.
@evilsbane: the framerate dropped alot in the big battles but they were fun to play
The first game Blizzard developed obviously: The Lost Vikings =P
Edit: It is possible it is not their first game. Maybe their second. I can't remember.
The Banner Saga is what you're looking for. Mount and Blade also works if you side with the Nords. There is a Viking Expansion for M&B, but I heard it's pretty bad.
I wish there was a game with Assassin's Creed or God of War level production value but for vikings. That would be pretty dope.
I never played it myself, but when I read your topic title I had the weirdest flash-back to a review Gamespot TV did way back in 2000 of Rune. It's available on Steam these days under the name Rune Classic.
Don't ask me why I vividly remember a random review on ZDTV that aired 15 years ago.
Now that Rune was mentioned I actually remembered that Too Human was like Norse mythology but in the future. Techno Vikings?
No? Probably for the best since it was recalled and probably hard to find now. It's not really a game worth finding when it's obscure either, really.
Lords of the Fallen seems like it wants to be Norse in nature, but I don't remember it blatantly being Vikings. Although, it is my understanding that the traditional Viking look is not what pop culture thinks it is. I don't know if that counts, none the less.
I think there was something else I was going to mention, but I've forgotten it. Oh well.

Actually many of those complaints were about bugs and bad performance and from what I can gather they basically fixed many of those things.
I will echo what @citizencoffeecake said and just recommend Skyrim. It's pretty cheap now (disgustingly so when on sale) and lets you run around an old nordic world to your hearts content. Seriously.

Techings? Viknos? Cyborikings? Vikroids? Technorse? Vikingitecs? Vikborgs? Cyborg Bjorn... I'll show myself the door...
Viking: Battle for Asgard got 3/5 by Jeff. The only really big Viking game I can think of.

Crusader Kings 2. Sacrifice catholic children to the great Allfather.
I second that, Crusader Kings 2 with The Old Gods, is pretty great.
Medieval Total War Viking Invasion expansion was great at the time but I haven't played it in 10 years so I don't know if it even runs on modern pc's.
