Just wondering how much outrage I can generate from a game people didn't know existed an hour ago.

I'm actually wondering how combat heavy it would be. I'd be a lot more interested in the puzzle solving aspect. Did they say if it was playable on the floor?

It should be a Hitman-like game. That is all.

That would be interesting. As is, it looks like GTA IV with a cyberpunk bent, but only slightly. Im interested, because the story looks intriguing, but I have a hard time getting excited about open world games, anymore.

All joking aside, it's hard to come up with a game that no one has ever come up with. Recently, what has there been? That game Notch is working on that basically has an emulated 16-bit processor in it? That's right crazy people games.

It's okay if it's similar to Syndicate, doesn't mean it won't be good. Personally I'd love it if it was combat light. Frankly, I'd REALLY like a combat optional game. It's sad that even in the scenario they created, that this guy is all powerful and all knowing, he controls the city. He's the digital messiah and... he STILL needs a gun.

This looks so much more appealing to me than Syndicate. I am sick and fucking tired of FPS games. This looks more like a Hitman style game that involves hacking and stuff!

That remains to be seen. That firefight in the intersection... Motherfucker has guns. 120 rounds in his pistol? An assault rifle. That's Saints Row level armory.

Agreed, not having shooting is worse than having it.

@barrock I'm not complaining personally. I do find it... I suppose... Dissonant, that they Big Brother scary-ify how powerful the main character is. He reads your email, you have no secrets, no privacy, he knows your medical history, he can predict your decisions like he can read your mind... and he can kill you on a whim (with the guns we gave him).

I liked syndicate when it was called Pong, bitch.

OT: What I'm most interested in was how the player was scanning all those npc's. I have unrealistic expectations that all of them have atleast some minor backstory you can mess around with...

To me this game seems more comparable to Deus ex

I think it looks really interesting. The combat looked boring, but this game seems like it's more about planning the combat out than it is actually doing the fighting.

But then, I could be wrong and this could be an elaborate plot setup for a very pretty interactive action movie #56487945616187916.

Actually I have empathy for the three last sentences, as long as it wasn't an excuse for poor mechanics or scenario.

Are you really that intolerant of people that are either a bit burned out on FPSes or that genre just isn't their cup of tea?

I like myself some old-school Rainbow Six, Marathon, ArmA, and Battlefield as much as the Deus Exes and VTM:Bs out there. I half-expected the shooting sequence, but I was still left slightly disappointed that it was in it. I would think it would be kind of cool if the hero had only his hacking tools to get through the world Deus Ex/Vampire - The Masquerade Bloodlines Style.

That was easily my game of the show. Super awesome atmosphere, awesome character designs and great gameplay.

Can't wait to see more of the multiplayer.

Edit: That was the only game in all of the press conferences where the presenter had to wait for people to stop cheering. The only thing, actually.

Really the problem with Syndicate was the same problem as The Club or even Bulletstorm. Point based system with a barebones storyline.

There's too much hype for so little information for Watch_Dogs it's incredibly dull to read through.

Instead of having to shoot everything and everybody like so many other games out there (though he did Max Payne it up and roll across the hood of that car like a total champ), I'd much rather go around and hitting them in the face with that sweet extendable baton.
