    Hey guys,
I just got a new Xbox 360 Slim maybe 2 weeks ago, when it launched and its opening at closing its disc tray, pretty much by itself from time to time, I could be in the middle of playing or it being Idle, or even turned off, so I have to un-plug it at night.... or it may turn on in the middle of the night... I was pretty much wondering if this has happened to anyone else and if it's a hardware problem or not... ?

    Thanks

Sounds like you're average poltergeist. They manifest themselfs by creating sounds or moving objects. Have a priest bless your house.

Since the eject button is touch sensitive there might be something wrong with the button itself? Or something is lightly touching it?

Did you try just cleaning off the sensor?

Is it beeping before the tray pops out? If it beeps, it means something (possibly a ghost) is activating it.

Sounds like a plan. Good luck with that.

a better question is whether or not the buttons on the 360 slim are pressure or heat sensitive, i'm going with the former. In that case maybe when it gets too hot the surface of the button heats up confusing it with the heat from a human hand causing it to open up? Is it laid down flat or standing up straight?

It's capacitive touch, so skin or a warm meaty object has to be touching it....

    wait.

    that came out entirely wrong.

Sometimes my MP3 player assumes its on hold and I have to wait for it to come off hold (it's a digital button). Once I had to wait for three hours just to turn it off because it decided to go on hold and you can't turn it off while it's on hold. :(

I think that's kind of like this, except maybe not really.

    Maybe it's hungry?

Seriously though, take it back while you still have the chance. Definitely not supposed to happen, and this is the first I'm hearing of such an issue.
