I asked Xbox about specific details about Home Gold on Twitter asking if you can be signed into XBL somewhere and have a family member using their Gamertag at home. They took a bunch of tweets to answer my question. Yet, this information is not in a FAQ.

I then asked them my other two outstanding questions, which they would/could not answer.

Major corporation won't release new information about it's product to random dude on twitter? Yeah that's weird.

Well part of my point is, these are things people want to know before they buy the console. They admitted there is an IR blaster but why not be forthcoming about the details?

Ghosts has been touted previously as having dedicated servers on the One. Which apparently is an exclusive feature. Wouldn't you want to put the spotlight on that to steal sales from PS4?

Some shots of some of the calibration stuff leaked out a few days ago, but I'm not sure if it really answers your specific question. Once that embargo expires tomorrow, I'm sure you'll get the info you want.

So that is why I say "Day One". There is no proof of it yet. And from what I know, multiplayer on the One isn't turned on yet.

Microsoft has said that dedicated servers will be free to those developers who want them. Theres no reason to believe any differently.

Absolutely. They are free for the developers to use them. But the developer still has to implement it in to the game and test it. I am looking for a first hand confirmation that it is in the game.

And, no one has detailed whether it would be all playlists and game types or just some. Can you point me to those actual details?

I have dug a little deeper into Activision and what they consider "dedicated servers". Apparently for current gen, it just means answer servers and improved matchmaking. And it most certainly did not mean multiplayer servers on day one for PS4.

Sony didn't release every little detail about their system before launch and neither will Microsoft.

I'm sure those support duders on twitter don't have an Xbox One sitting on their desks so they don't know just as much as we don't.

The next few days will tell us what we want to know.

Maybe not the most appropriate place to ask but the Xbox One has optical out right?

No, that's entirely reasonable. There is no good reason that this information isn't out there yet. There are plenty of bad reasons though. Anyway, the consumer should be able to make an informed decision when they make a purchase. Subverting that at this point in the process is fairly sleazy.

Sony did that giant info-dump on the PS4 relatively close to launch, I would expect MS will do something similar.

In that regard, MS just announced today that Twitch streaming is delayed until 2014. Here is the source.

No twitch at launch? it seems to work well on PS4, and it's been integrated into a few games on PC without many problems.

If any of them were to mess up streams, I would have expected the PS4 to be the system to do so, or Twitch itself to be unable to meet demand. MS is a veteran when it comes to online infrastructure, given what they've learned from years of Xbox Live.
