    Allan Alcorn is a pioneering engineer and computer scientist best known for his work on the video arcade game Pong. He grew up in San Francisco, California, where he attended the University of California, Berkeley, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences in 1971. 

    He worked for Ampex, a video pioneering company, where he met Ted Dabney among several other people that would be end up being constants throughout his career in companies like Atari, Apple etc.

    Under the direction of Nolan Bushnell and Ted Dabney, Alcorn did the design work for the game Pong, which ended up being a hit in the 1970s. Alcorn also had direct involvement with launching the Atari 2600, but then left Atari in 1981.
