Mass Effect 3: Citadel – Single Player DLC

When a sinister conspiracy targets Commander Shepard, you and your team must uncover the truth, through battles and intrigue that range from the glamour of the Citadel’s Wards to the top-secret Council Archives. Uncover the truth and fight alongside your squad – as well as the cast from the original Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2, including Urdnot Wrex!

When the adventure is over, reconnect with your favorite characters from the Mass Effect Trilogy, try your luck at the Citadel’s Silver Coast Casino, blow off steam in the Armax Combat Arena, or explore and furnish Shepard’s own living quarters on the Citadel. With unique content and cinematics featuring your friends and romance interests in the Mass Effect trilogy, Mass Effect 3: Citadel offers one final chance to see the characters you have known for years and rekindle romances.

Mass Effect 3: Citadel will release worldwide on March 5th on Xbox 360, PC and PS3 (on March 6th on PS3 in Europe). Price: $14.99, 1200MS points and 1200 BW points.

Mass Effect 3: Reckoning – Multiplayer DLC

Prepare for the Reckoning! Newfound allies join the multiplayer war for survival in Mass Effect 3: Reckoning. The Geth Juggernaut, Female Turian Raptor, Talon Mercenary, Alliance Infiltration Unit, and more take up arms to stop the Reaper threat. Smash your enemies with the Biotic Hammer as you lay waste to the battlefield as the Krogan Warlord.

Wield 7 new weapons for multiplayer, including the Geth Spitfire Assault Rifle, Venom Shotgun, Lancer Assault Rifle, and amplify your arsenal with new equipment and weapon mods featuring the Geth Scanner and Assault Rifle Omni-blade.

Mass Effect 3: Reckoning launches at no additional cost worldwide on February 26th on Xbox 360, PC and PlayStation 3 (February 27th on PlayStation 3 in Europe).

Of course the multiplayer DLC is what excites me the most here, since I haven't played SP since launch(was waiting for all the DLC)

It sounds super like pure fanservice, which at this point is exactly what I want. Let me finish off Mass Effect with one big group-in featuring all my favorites.

Looking forward to Reckoning but I think I'll pass on Citadel for now, maybe wait for a sale.

Sorry if it seemed like I just copied and pasted, I'm in kind of a hurry today.

Reckoning is probably going to follow Retaliations and release the characters periodically. 7 New Guns is a hefty amount and the character's sound like, as @JeanLuc said pure fanservice, Geth Juggernaut(Probably an actual solider, although I like the Trooper a lot), Female Raptor(Adept?), Talon Mercenary(Salarian?), Alliance Infiltration Unit(EDI Style AI), Korgan Warload(Engineer or Solider?) and more!

I dunno, maybe? I love the Citadel, it might be my favourite location in the Mass Effect universe, but I still feel like after the big finish I'm done with Mass Effect for a while, and every DLC just feels like it's trying to continue a story that already ended.

Im a big fan of the citadel too, one of my favourite parts of the first game was how fleshed out it felt but the citadel part sounds like its all about the customizing your room and meeting your buddies, that just doesnt tug at me the way it would have 2 games ago,I think you may be on to something

Why wasn't that in the game? Having a conspiracy uncovered in the "highest" parts of the Citadel would have helped remind the player that thing was always exotic instead of the "safe base of operation" it became (until the last moment of the game).

It doesn't sound like that's all this is about, that just seems to be a side activity, and the piece from Bioware is written in that weird press release style of making something seem like it has a ton of appealing features, when actually those features don't count for that much. In fact this thing is written a lot like those old WiiWare and DSiWare release things.

It is the biggest DLC in terms of size, the 360 version is two separate downloads. Every single squad member old and new has new voiced dialogue, even the late Robin Sachs. The point of this DLC isn't the mission or any of that, it's one last time for the fans to spent time with characters they've grow to love. I think of this as Mass Effect 3's version of P4Gs "Our Summer Vacation" and to me that's worth any price.

@smashecontrollers: Okay, sounds like it might be more to do with talking with your squadmates than I thought, but the way this bit from Bioware is written, it still sounds like the mission is a huge part, if not the core of the DLC, and that in itself it's a way for users to reconnect with those characters. The thing is, when Mass Effect 3 itself was largely about seeing those characters for the last time, and a pretty big deal was made near the end of the game about saying goodbye to your squad, it kind of devalues the idea of this being the "Say goodbye to those characters you like" DLC. That's not to say the idea of seeing all those guys again doesn't get me kind of excited, but it still seems like a "One last hurrah" DLC built onto a game that was a "One last hurrah" already.

Then I'll have the real experience.

More info out of the BSN Multiplayer Sub-Forum.

  • All the new kits have at least one new power, this DLC has more new powers than all other combined.
  • Geth Juggernaut is the biggest(size-wise), strongest kit(more shields than even the Battlemaster and Shaman) in the game and is apprently un-synckill-able(No Phantom or Banshee grabs) but to competences it he's the slowest character, has no evade and can't take cover.
  • The Korgan Warhammer is specific to that kit.

Sounds like they're going for that super feel-good ending like Lost had. It didn't make a lot of sense in that show, but I can't deny feeling all swollen with emotion seeing the entire gang hanging out for the final time.

I'll probably play it.

That sounds like the sort of DLC they should have focused on all along, rather than something like Leviathan (which should have just been in the game :P).

Regardless, they've been killing it with the multiplayer DLC.

I'm doing my second playthrough of the whole series right now. I'm cruising through the second game, but I'll probably wait for this to come out before jumping into ME3 so that I can experience all the series has to offer for the last time (and see if I agree with Brad about how different the DLC makes the game feel).

Kind of excited to jump back into the multiplayer too, which has changed a lot since I last played it. I really enjoyed what I played of it initially.

An awful lot of my past companions are dead. Including Urdnot Wrex. I think my only surviving crew members who weren't already in ME3 are Grunt, Jacob, Kasumi, Zaeed, and Jack. In other words... very few people of note. The extras, like the arena and furniture stuff might be cool, though. I don't know. I beat ME3 on insanity. Not sure how much is left for me there.

@theht: The multiplayer team at Montreal worked endlessly to make the game they wanted and supported the game for a year with 5 free expansions weekly operations and weekly balance changes. I have good faith that Bioware Montreal can make a killer new Mass Effect game.

The Citadel DLC will be the last thing Robin Sachs(Zaeed) is credited in and in honor of Robin this weekends Operation, Tribute, is to get kills with M8-Avenger and Inferno Grenades. Both references to Zaeed's character.

okay someone help me remmeber....you never had a pad on the citadel in any of the games right? That sounds alright especially if you're replaying the trilogy all over. My whole ME2 crew survived and it's about damn time Jacob left that fucking hospital.

I'll get it, it's pure fan service and I guess that's fine. That 15 dollar price tag better mean that there's actual good combat and story in the DLC as well.

I'll pick this up when it goes on sale it sounds awesome but at 15$ I think is too much (also how are they going to bring all the characters? not counting the suicide mission some of them don't make it until ME3's point of no return for story DLC) now Reckoning sounds pretty insane and all of those classes look really fun to play with. Playing as a Geth prime sounds nuts.

I don't want to sound like a troll or something, but to me this feels like another kick in the nuts.

This DLC continues the trend of 'content that should have been include in the main game'.

First they alter the ending which sucked for a lot of people (he ending I mean, not the alteration), than they bring out Leviathan to back up their ending (WHY WASN'T THIS INCLUDED IN THE GAME).

Than later we get Omega, which was telegraphed from the beginning this would become DLC just from the conversation with Aria (again, WHY WASN'T THIS INCLUDED IN THE GAME).

And now we get Citadel where you do a final mission with most of the squad members from Mass Effect 1 & 2 (yet again, WHY WASN'T THIS INCLUDED IN THE GAME!!!)

I liked Mass Effect 3 when it came out, couldn't hold up to Mass Effect 2 or Mass Effect 1, but still a great experience. Now seeing how they threat the DLC, I get a bad taste in my mouth and not from the content they present, but the fact that this content wasn't in the game. So many people that I know, who played through the Mass Effect trilogy found the lack of previous squad mates (specifically Mass Effect 2 squad mates) a huge dissapointment, as was the ending and it's explanation (or lack of an explanation) of the star-child.

Now all of this is fixed within a year after release, but us early adopters we have to fork up extra money to 'fix' our experience. Oh yeah, and guess what, this DLC doen't matter one bit to the final outcome. It's not like this content offers a bridge to the next Mass Effect like we had with Shadow Broker and Arrival. Instead it's just more stuff for you to do to get more War assests which will not be usefull in any other way than to fill your readiness meter (A cap which is lowered since Leviathan arrived, could be sooner, so extra war assets aren't needed anyway).

I apologize for my ranting but that's just how I feel.

I loved Mass Effect so much, hell I'm typing this while I'm wearing my N7 Hoodie (how cool is that), but Mass Effect 3 and all the debacles and DLC after it have seriously tainted that love.

Again, I apologize for my ranting, but those are just my two cents.
