So when I try to start my laptop I hear this clicking sound and it fails to start or starts and then freezes. It comes from a specific area and after taking off a few screws I found that that is where the hard drive is located. So this might be a dumb question but does this mean my hard drive is toast and needs to be replaced or could it be something else?

Backup your stuff now. Get a new drive put that in and install your Os, then put your old one in a enclosure (external usb), and if its possible copy the stuff from it you need.

Thanks for the response. Not to worried about my data. The only stuff on there thats important and not already backed up is all my music.
Guess I'm going to go get a new one.
Thanks again.
