Saw over on Arcade Heroes that SNK Playmore has updated its official site with what seems to be the complete, official roster for its upcoming fighting game, The King of Fighters XII. Here is an image of said roster!

I suppose the smaller roster makes sense, considering they're actually redrawing all of the artwork this year. Though I'd always prefer my KOF games to have Heavy D! in them, as long as I can assemble my Terry/Kyo/Ryo team, I'll be OK... Buster Wolf.

Hmm... no Mai? Must have been too hard to reanimate all of that breast bounce.

Mai's absence is a bit odd.  But I like the roster, even though I haven't played a KoF in over six or seven years.  I'm really looking forward to this one.

Looking forward to this. I kinda wish they did SF4 this way...

Almost all of the famed Females are missing on this line up. Hopefully they are timed released, and fully playable on the console versions (i heard it's TBD).

Either way I'm really looking forward to the new style, and the game play tweaks. So yea.. can't wait for it!

What?! No K'...?? Are you telling me I can't make my Terry/Kyo/K' team anymore?

....

This is outrageous!

Ive always preferred KOF over SF and I was really happy to hear that they finally where updating the sprites with HD hand drawn ones. SF 4 looks great but I am also one of those people that wished SF4 was made this way.

The absence of Mai and K bugs me but as someone else said it is probably TBD for the console version.

I can't wait to get this game. My team consists of three of the following: Terry, Kim, Robert, Joe, Andy, Kyo, King, and Benimaru.

Should be named: King of Fighters XII: Sausage Party

Mai's probably going to show up as an exclusive in the home version - she wasn't in the arcade roster for KOF XI either - but she was in the PS2 version as an exclusive (along with Tung Fu Rue and EX Kyo).

I can't tell, are there two or three women in the roster?

King of fighters was supposed to be over the top shit with characters from every game in there. Downsizing makes no sense; its like having another marvel versus capcom but limiting the roster to 15 instead of 50; when it should be 500. Yeah, the smurfs should be in it man.

Only two women? What a sausage fest.

I usually find the SNK women to be way more interesting and fun to play as than the SF girls, so it's sad to not see them here. I'll forgive the fairly disappointing roster because of the gorgeous sprites, but only this time!
