Now, some explanation. This is a compilation of twenty tracks inspired by ten different games, each focusing on a hero or his/her/its corresponding villain. They run the gamut in style from rock and metal to industrial, jazz, even rap. There is a strong undercurrent of quality running through them—labors of love, these truly be—and this is intensified by the "Music" page on the site, which gives the artists the opportunity to delve into their process, reasoning and influences in creating each track. It can be honest-to-God inspiring to see the level of consideration that goes into some of these works, and the results often speak for themselves.

The Zelda tracks are maybe the most interesting from a design standpoint, though not my favorites just for listening. The artists agreed to do Link's and Ganon's tracks as a rap battle, and it comes off as the single most unique take on some classic, familiar Zelda music I've ever heard. I'm not well-versed in or particularly well-disposed (or exposed) to rap, but I can appreciate the intensity of the process and the lyricism and meter strung through these tracks. 
 
I would also have liked to see some classic NES Ninja Gaiden on here, but there's already a good amount of that on the OCRemix site (mostly remixing the same few tracks, too), so I can't really complain too much, and the absence of Ryu Hayabusa and The Jaquio/Demon/Ashtar isn't a glaring oversight by any means.
