Fuck! Ryan Davis pin!

Posted by Sildfisk

Wow, that unibrow on 90's Schafer! I'm really looking forward to playing Grim Fandango again.

Edited by DevourerOfTime

I'm pretty sure this is all footage cut from the Tim Plays [Insert His Old Game] videos and the excellent Double Fine Adventure documentary. Check them out.

Edit: Okay. MOSTLY pulled from those videos.

this kinda stuff is awesome, love to see how these people started

Ryan on his desk. Crying now. ;-;

Apart from Baldur's Gate 2, Grim Fandango is my favourite game of all time.To this day i love the aesthetic of Noir and the Dia de los Muertos, and it's all because of this game that i played while i was 11. I couldn't be more happy to hear this news; during the reveal at the sony conference i exploded in cheering in front of my computer!

Can't wait! Because of my age and the fact that it didn't have tie fighters, I never played Grim the first time around, so I'm really looking forward to this. With so much cynicism in the industry it's nice to see how earnest and clearly passionate Tim is about his work. Very touching interview.

Grim was probably the only Lucas game I never really played ... I'm unreasonably excited for this :)

There's also an hour and a half long play through Double Fine posted

Man, 1995 Tim Schafer looks weird.

I'm definitely looking forward to being able to play this game without having to mess around with Windows compatibility modes. My favorite LucasArts adventure game!

You know, I think I'm old enough now that there just isn't going to be a game to knock Grim Fandango from its rightful place at the very centre of my heart. I was twelve when it came out, so it took a few years until I got around to playing it, but when I did …

For some people it's Super Mario World or Zelda: Ocarina or whatever; for me that game is Grim. I can't wait for this.

Grim is one of my all time favourite games so I'm super pumped to play it again remastered.

Edited by Hassun

Very well-made video about the creation of a true classic. I can't wait for the re-release.

Grim is one of those games that I missed back in the day and always wanted to get back to, but then it got incredibly hard to get it legitimately. So, this is an awesome thing that they're doing and I can't wait to finally play this.

Grim Fandango is such a fantastic game. So happy to get the chance to play it again (it's kinda broken on new PCs) and also give new players the chance to experience this marvelously crazy adventure.

Also, Ryan.

Always wanted a chance to play this. The Sony press conference was the last place I would have expected such an announcement.

Posted by HellknightLeon

Ryan, always making me smile.

Never forget Ryan.

Edited by probablytuna

Can't wait to play it for the first time.

Tim Schafer, Grim Fandango, Ryan Davis.

Thank you Two Player.

I have to confess that I have never played Grim Fandango, yet I am old enough to have, since I played the shit out of Full Throttle. Looking forward to this.

Posted by xite

I will buy this the day it comes out on PC.

Posted by Rykane

This video was great, I also loved the play through he done of Grim and Full Throttle.

Posted by Hilts

He is a great talker. Totally knows how to sell an idea! Im sold!

This was one of the greatest adventure games of all time. I loved Manny Calavera, and I even have that little skeleton pre-order bonus thing in a drawer somewhere. Can't wait until this comes out again so I can play it with my wife and not have to see if I can get scummvm working on my PC (does it even still work?).

Eagle eye spotters catch that glimpse of Brad Muir?

So happy.

I remember playing it as a little kid, but I didn't get far, English isn't my first language so I didn't know what I had to do, but I really liked the art and the look of the characters.

Fantastic video, great project, can't wait.

I was 16 when it came out but it's the same for me. I still consider it among the best if not the best game story of all time. Not that it's super deep or anything, but it's such an amazing, fulfilling and complete tale from beginning to end. I remember the feeling of satisfaction I got at the end of the game was profound, which is notable in the world of games where so many endings are afterthoughts.

Amazing video.

2 Player makes some fantastic videos! Super interesting, thanks guys! Looking forward to the GF project!! :-D

one of those games back in the day i always wanted to play but did not own a pc back then, so im stoked.

Sorry Tim, but digital is anything but forever. Servers go down all the time. Companies go under and they take everything with them.

Posted by mattoncybertron

never really had a chance to play this, can't wait to jump into this madness!

Posted by Hardtarget

Holy shit I'm excited for this. By far my favourite adventure game of all time, got my CD still in a prominent location in my office!

Posted by automatontribe

What an awesome video!

Love to see how Ryan Davis has affected those in the gaming industry. I've also never had the chance to play Grim Fandango and can't wait to get t for PS4!.

Posted by Sergotron

I have been waiting for a long time to finally get a good chance to replay this classic. Also sweet Ryan pin.

Grim Fandango was a significant and memorable part of my childhood. When Adam made the announcement at Sony, I thrust my hands into the air in silent celebration (it was about 3am).

This may be circumstantial, but I looked up the lead programmer on Grim Fandango, check out what he's up to now: Bret Mogilefsky

Posted by Dan_CiTi

Rad!! I hope the remake knocks it out of the park.

Edited by Luck702

That Ryan pin is really sweet. Makes me tear up to think it's almost been a year.

As for the game, I've never gotten to play this before. I've heard about it my entire life though. I can't wait to get to experience it in a modern, polished form.

I am so excited.

This was my introduction to Grim Fandango:

After that, I remember not really knowing anything about it but that seed had been planted and it just grew so when I saw Grim Fandango in the store, I asked my parents for it for maybe a birthday or Christmas present. The funny thing was though, I never originally knew about MI3 either. My dad was going out and I really wanted to play Monkey Island 1 again as I used to play it during breaks in my primary school so I asked if he could look in the store to see if he could buy it and then he came home with a collection of MI1, 2 and 3. I was super thrilled and that's my personal little history on LucasArts adventure games.

Posted by Zelnox

1998 was a bumper crop year; a few games fans still hold dear today: Ocarina of Time, Starcraft, Metal Gear Solid.

Posted by AndyRazzer

Really excited to play this for the first time, day of the tentacle was my favourite game as a kid but never had a chance to play this but i did watch a play through a few years ago coz i love adventure games so cant wait.

Edited by Lazlow

Super excited Grim will finally be officially re-released and remastered, especially after years of neglect by Lucas. Nobody is more deserving of that right than Tim. For all the legal crap that has prevented this game from a proper release for so long, its great that he can finally have an opportunity to re-release HIS game so it can be re-introduced to today's audiences and given the respect it so rightly deserves.

Edited by groundbeef

One of my favorite games of all time, even named my cat Meche. Hopefully they just go balls out and do an "extended" version with additional puzzles and dialogue bits, especially towards the back half of the game. It always felt a bit rushed and barren compared to the tremendous first 2 acts/areas (El Marrow, Rubacava).

Posted by nick_verissimo

Now we just need a day of the tentacle remake!

Posted by dvdwalker8

Nice to see that he has a reminder of Ryan there with him. Lots of great old interview footage there. Never played the game before but I've heard good things. I'll probably pick up this HD version at some point when I get a PS4.
