The Xbox 360 is the second game console produced by Microsoft Corporation and is the successor to the original Xbox.
Microsoft changing Xbox 360 slim to full on matte finish
Yep, no more shiny on the 250 GB models. If I didn't already have a slim, I'd defiantly buy one now that they're matte.
Anybody surprised by this news? Maybe even angered that their precious box doesn't match the Kinect or the new headset and media remote? http://majornelson.com/2011/07/26/xbox-360-wireless-headset-with-bluetooth-and-a-new-media-remote/
I have a feeling that this might have already been posted, but oh well.
@Chop: I thought about doing the same thing but realized that it really didn't matter
I hate shiny. I love matte. This makes me happy. I never bought a PS3 because I didn't want a shiny black fingerprint magnet to have to constantly clean (yes, I know the slims are matte, but I havent had the cash).

Glossy finish looks way better, and it matches all the peripherals. Why are they doing this?Umm I'm looking at the 360 controller I got with my Glossy 360 S and it's all Matte, the only glossy parts are the very top bumper area and the bottom area where the headset plugs in.
I think that's probably a good call; I'm not afraid to touch matte things because they won't show fingerprints.
My Elite has just survived it's 3rd red ring so I was looking at buying a new 360 soon and have always preferred matte finishes over glossy.
Nice that i have a piano finish on my 360 Slim then. It provides some really nice lightning from my TV that is on my wall. Oh, and fingerprints? I use a special cloth almost every day to dust off... dust. And every time i need to hold the system to clean under it i use the cloth. Hovering over the 360 i don't see a single print.
No pictures to compare? It's going to look exactly like the 4GB console
This is the best video I could find
Fucking love my Elite because it's matte black. My G110 is matte black, my headphones are matte black, R.A.T 7 is matte soft touch black, my PC is matte black and my 2nd monitor is matte black. Then my main monitor is glossy black and I fucking hate it. It's dusty as fuck and has a ton of scratches, but I never touch it.
Well, personally, I think the glossy finish looks about a million times better.
glossy one is nice but it gets scratched way too easily
im glad its being changed as i always preferred the matte finish
Well it really doesn't matter a whole lot to me what my console looks like, as long as it's working.
I prefer matte but to be honest I don't look at my consoles enough to care.
There is a pretty even trade-off here tho: a matte finish requires less dusting, but damn is it ever satisfying to dust a glossy finish.
I JUST BOUGHT the XBOX 360 slim MATTE finish, and the cooler on top of the xbox (if placed horizontally, the only cooler there is) is actually SUCKING AIR into the console, onto the heat sink. Is that normal? or sould i go change it? PLS someone answer! thx!
If you don't like fingerprints on your console you could save a couple of buck and....buy a cloth. Just putting it out there.
@Atlantus_Air: I took good care of mine and the amount of scratches on it is ridiculously.I did the deal with Gamestop in which you trade in the old xbox 360 and get the matte 360 for 30 bucks and it looks alot better.

I guess it can match the matte finish of the ps3 slim
Doesn't matter to me since the only thing I touch is the eject button and I barely see the console from where I'm sitting, anyway I already upgraded my launch 360 to a 250GB slim last year. I don't care much about how electronics look since I like to tuck them away anyway. I just see my TV and my speakers while my HTPC, reciever, PS2, 360 and bluray player are tucked away. Despite having a bunch of electronics I don't see a single wire and it's great. I hate messy cables and such.
