Second, and this is a personal thing, but it's happened to me with every staffperson leaving since Drew: I see the announcement on Twitter or in the comments while listening to the podcast, and I just have to sit there for like another hour waiting for the shoe to drop. What a weird feeling.
I will always fondly remember Ben’s shit-eating grin whenever Jeff died in those Garfield games, knowing he could read another passage from that fanfic. Pretty much anytime he was paired with Jan was pure gold, and he’ll be sorely missed.
Love you Ben. Kick ass with whatever you choose to do. You will leave a big void around these parts. Love your sense of humor and how fast you nail a joke. Peace!

Ben's best attribute is how well he plays off of others and gets them to play off him. Definitely someone that makes the whole better than the sum of its parts. Thanks for the memories, Ben!

Truly sad to hear as Ben was incredible with anyone he was working with. He brought such good, fun, and young energy but I can only wish him the best in everything he does next and he is leaving behind a great catalog of work

Going to miss the Jan and Ben combo. Jan Can Cook (Ben Appetite) had so much potential! That could have been a weekly show. It was so good. I also enjoyed the passion he brought to game of the year.
I get it dude. I would 100% not want a publicly facing job like this either. Too much stress and most people want to just clock in and clock out. I am the same. Best wishes, Ben.
Even I liked you, and I am one of those Boomers normally wanting to chase you off my lawn. I'm kind of bummed out by this. Just the same, if it has to be this way, I hope things go really well for you. You've dealt with some real obstacles and made it all work. I'll never forget the time you (and Jan) got to see the back of Kojima's head. The memory of that still kills me!
Ben thanks for bringing a spark to the site. It always seemed like you enjoyed being on all the streams and had a really positive energy about you. It was great having you on the streams for the last few years and you will be missed. Good luck with your future.
Man, this departure hits me the hardest out of any we've had. Being the same age, and also being a giant (though not as giant as Ben) he was super relatable and I loved everything he did. I'm so sad he is leaving, but very happy he is leaving to follow the path he feels best about. I can't imagine what kind of pressure a public, forward facing job like the ones the staff here has can do to your mind and emotional state.
My wife framed the pictures from our PAX 2018 adventure and one of my favorite ones is the one that Ben graciously took with me. One of the few humans that has ever towered over my 6'6" ass. That pictures is a treasure and I'm happy I could meet Ben, even if briefly.
I loved the aftermath so much, Jeff and Ben had great chemistry and really played off each other well. His ability to manipulate paper cups was also unmatched, truly the greatest ghost cup wizard of our time.

Ben, I will always remember calling into that one solo Aftershow you did and we talked about garbage food for a bit. I'm going to miss you on the site a bunch.
I'm really impressed and touched by how forthright Ben has been about his reasons for leaving. I love this site and the people who make it go, but I have reservations about how much games journalism has become focused around the online personas of the journalists. (I know, I know, and yet I subscribe, live in a society, etc.)
Anyway, I can only imagine how weird it must be to have to engage with the Internet so fully all the time-- to be professionally OBLIGATED to be so online. Kudos to Ben for realizing that this particular path wasn't for him and being honest with himself.
: ( Awwwww. Completely understandable, but still super bummed. Between Ben and Abby, my favorite series was the Valentines Day week dating sim episodes.

I like the way Ben approaches games. As an example, I cant play Apex myself because of some weird anxiety thing I have but I always looked forward to Murder Island and Breakfast N Ben Apex streams and it made me a fan of a game I dont play.
