    Age of Empires 3 follows in the RTS tradition of the franchise, portraying the colonization of the Americas by the Europeans. Major gameplay changes surrounding the addition of the Home City modify the RTS formula with certain features of Role-Playing Games.

    When I was using Vista I could never get Windows Live Messenger to install, until I temporarily enabled UAC (User Account Control).
    If you have it disabled, try enabling it for the install and then disabling it afterwards, it sounds like your problem is very similar to the one I had.

    If you go to the GFW Live client, click on downloads, then click on the game you'll see on option called "view available keys". Click that and there goes your key. "

    Then your best bet is to contact support. Send them a screenshot of that window.

    AGE OF EMPIRES SALES INFORMATION:
    Due to the overwhelming success of the Age of Empires III sale, we have temporarily run out of keys to unlock the game. You can still buy the game at this amazing price and you will get a key in the next week. When new keys are added to the system you will be auto-assigned a key, there is no need to call support or take any other action from your end. We will post information on the forums and on the website when the keys are available and the next time you click 'View Game Keys' for the game you should be assigned one. 


    Well no matter, I can wait a few days to play this. 
     
    This will be my first Age of Empires, are they any good?

    I have not tried that yet, installed it and it wants me to restart but I'm in the middle of work, so I'll have to check out if that works later!

    You're downloading it as one big file (this is only age of empires 3 complete), and there is one key for that one file.

    @TiuRex: Yes The game and the two expansion packs are installed with one key. It asks you for the key once and then it installs everything.

    Well, as of now, I don't have a key. So I can't install the game. Just a head's up. I am not mad or anything. Its 10c after all. 
     
    Hopefully the keys will be out soon.
