I was wondering if anyone knew of some novels that would really set up the world. I read the Witcher books before I played the games so I was hoping I could do the same here, so does anyone have an idea of what I could read? Thank you guys!

I haven't but I'm curious to know how people feel about it.

I've never actually played, but I'm reading through the 2020 core book now just for background info and lore. I'd recommend that instead of bad novels.

The source books go up to 2030. The novels aren't recommended. You'll get a better impression from the 2020 and 2030 source books.

Check out Neuromancer by William Gibson. Not officially related to Cyberpunk 2077, but just a good read for the Cyberpunk genre as a whole.

Yep, also gonna recommend Neuromancer by Gibson, it pretty much helped establish typical features of cyberpunk as a genre of fiction/media, Gibson was one of the pioneers of it, and Neuromancer is an absolute must read for anyone interested in anything cyberpunk.

@dudeglove: Shadowrun has a bunch of mysticism and fantasy aspects going on that separates it from Cyberpunk though.
