    Biography

    Born in 1960, Fukio "MTJ" Mitsuji was best known for his work at Taito in the 1980s, where he worked as a game and character designer. His most famous work is Bubble Bobble, but he also worked on Rainbow Islands, Super Dead Heat, Halley's Comet, Volified, Syvalion and Darius 2. In the 1990s, Mitsjui went freelance, working on games like Magical Puzzle Popils before ultimately deciding he had enough of being a game designer and starting a game design school.

    According to reports from Japanese Bubble Bobble forums, Mitsuji passed away on the 11th of December, 2008. The cause was attributed to cardiopulmary arrest caused by kidney problems.
