Achievements are extra challenges added into video games that sometimes carry a point value or unlock bonus material, and are sometimes solely for bragging rights.
Extraterrestrials appear in many video games in a variety of styles. Sometimes they're evil, sometimes they're benevolent, and sometimes they're very similar to humans.
Animals and Creatures that serve to populate levels and give the world life. Usually passive and may try to avoid or runaway from the player, But some may become hostile to the player once attacked/provoked. Some may not be able to be interacted with at all either being in the background/foreground or too far away.
Games where the protagonist's weapon physically displays the amount of remaining ammunition. This is commonly used to increase a game's immersiveness.
This concept occurs in many RPGs and Sci-Fi games. The Ancient Advanced Civilization Technology is often a giant weapon (Halo Rings, Giant of Babil, etc.) that becomes a major plot focus in the stories of these games.
A partial reward granted to the player for aiding a teammate by softening a target or helping to fully score by completing an objective in competitive multiplayer. Assist Points may also refer to bonuses awarded for simply supporting an ally with repair, supplies or a defibrillator zap.
Audio logs are short voice recordings that a player comes across within a game that helps inform the player of the game's story and characters.
Short one-line audio clips spoken by the NPCs that populate the game world. Can be random or in reaction to the player or events.
A tiered reward system usually involving players having to purchase to acquire certain rewards.
Bipedal Digitigrades stand, walk or run with its toes touching the ground and the rest of its foot lifted, creating a the legs to bow backwards and then forwards, while also standing upright like a human being would. This is popularly seen in anthropomorphic animal characters, aliens or monsters, Werewolves being a prime example. Unguligrades are similar but instead of toes, they have hooves.
Birdmen are large birds that can talk or half-bird half-man creatures. Are often depicted as wise, in spite of having bird brains.
Winged, usually flying creatures, many of which enjoy perching on branches and defecating on unfortunate victims below.
Bosses are enemies that fight you at the end of a level or at a significant point in the story.
A boss fight is a culminating challenge that pits the player against one or more enemies representing a greater threat and/or difficulty than those previously faced. These scenarios typically feature unique antagonists.
AI Bots are computer-controlled game characters that substitute for characters that are otherwise typically played by a human, and are most commonly found in multiplayer games.
A condition in which two male characters are socially close, but not sexually or romantically, and are often partners.
The Jiralhanae are called Brutes by the UNSC. As a result of the expulsion of the elites from the Covenant, they serve as the primary antagonists during the events of Halo 2 and 3.

Often used as a catch-all term for any game's main story-driven mode of play, campaign mode usually refers to a linear sequence of levels with a continuous story and a definite conclusion, playable single-player and sometimes co-operatively.
A game in which the object is for each team to retrieve the opponent's flag and return it to their own base. Typically used in multiplayer first-person shooter games.
Jacking is the act of taking control of a vehicle that is not under the player's rightful or original possession, and may or may not have been taken out of another player's or NPC's possession.
A chicken is a small, domesticated flightless bird that can be white, yellow, brown or black. A female is a hen, a male a rooster, and a baby a chick.
Elites, also known as Sangheili are a Covenant race in the Halo series. During Halo: Combat Evolved and the bulk of Halo 2 they are the primary antagonists. They became semi allied with the humans in Halo 3, and are in a political crisis during Halo 4, some still at war with Humanity.
Grunts are part of the Covenant Army. Due to their sheer number and low standing, they are often used as cannon fodder.
Enemies who don't fight fair or flee when they're running low on health. Examples include Boos from Super Mario and those pesky goblins from Dark Messiah.
A special challenge mode offered by some games in which players test themselves against a predetermined scenario, which changes each day.
