Having been the President of Global Publishing, and Chief Operating Officer at Electronic Arts in 2009; Pleasants left to become CEO of Playdom, a social gaming company. During that time he lead Playdom to acquire seven game development companies and then through the acquisition of the company by The Walt Disney Company in September of 2010. A month later, Pleasants was named Co-President of Disney Interactive Media Group (now known as Disney Interactive), which he over saw the game development and game publishing aspects of the division.
Pleasants resigned in November of 2013 shortly after Disney Interactive posted a loss of $87 million for fiscal year 2013.
