    Marcus Beer was a PR Manager for various big name publishers before moving on to become a video games journalist.

    Biography

    Marcus began his career as a PR manager at Interactive Magic in 1996 working there for one year before moving to Blue Byte in 1997. Marcus left Blue Byte after two years to work for Red Storm Entertainment in April of 2000.

    Marcus then left Red Storm in April 2001 to work at Ubisoft as the PR lead for the Tom Clancy franchise Ghost Recon where he secured two PC Gamer covers for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon. He left Ubisoft in April of 2002 for Novalogic games where he was responsible for coordinating all PR efforts within their EU office. He then left Novalogic after just over three years to become senior global PR manager at Vivendi Games. At Vivendi Games he created and led the the launch publicity strategy for the F.E.A.R. franchise.

    In February 2007 Marcus left Sierra Entertainment to focus on games journalism. He joined Vlaze.com as the co-creator and host of the live, twice weekly webcast "The Gamer." "The Gamer" ran from September 2007 until January 2008. The show was canceled along with several others when Vlaze.com reformatted and decided to focus on more celebrity driven content.

    Marcus then began working as a freelance producer and panelist at Gametrailers.com on their podcast, Invisible Walls. During this time he also worked as the Public Relations Director at Ignition Entertainment. Marcus left Gametrailers.com after the cancellation of Invisible Walls when he went to host his own version of Annoyed Gamer at AnnoyedGamer.com.

    Marcus also works as a Freelance Contributor for KNBC Los Angeles appearing on the "Today in L.A. Weekend" show.

    On January 27, 2017 Marcus suffered a heart attack and was placed in a medically induced coma.

    Marcus has recently appeared on SIFTD.com as part of Shane Satterfield's show GameFace. However abruptly stopped then later cited issues with the commute on Twitter.
