PNC Park is the home of the Pittsburgh Pirates

    Short summary describing this location.

No recent wiki edits to this page.

PNC Park is home to the National League's Pittsburgh Pirates. It is the team's fifth home, a replacement for Three Rivers Stadium which was demolished in 2001. The park was constructed to resemble older ballparks such as Chicago's Wrigley Field and Boston's Fenway Park. It sits right next to the Allegheny River on the North Side of town. Behind center field a view of the Pittsburgh skyline can be seen. The bridge seen crossing the river is the Roberto Clemente Bridge, named after the team's late slugger. Three statues have been erected outside of the stadium in honor of former players, one for Clemente, one for dead ball-era shortstop Honus Wagner, and one for former NL MVP Willie Stargell. While the young stadium has yet to host any World Series games, it has been the host of the 2006 Major League All-Star Game.
