So the folks at System Era kept on adding QoL improvements and cool new systems like the auto extractor and trains not to mention seasonal events that kept us coming back for more co-op gameplay.. I also loved the time Brad & Vinny spent in the game..
Great list. My GOTY 2021 was chock full of games that came out in a previous year. But for one reason or another this was the year it was new to me. Xbox game pass and me PC (and switch) gamer contributed to the tide of new old games. Also this year there were games that "came out" on other platforms or were early access etc. But they were where most of my gaming time was spent this year, so they're goin on my GOTY.. "It's your party you can GOTY if you want to." is my opinion..
I'm so glad you're on the GB team! Because you're cool and because although I haven't read anyone else's lists yet, I've been thinking since the beginning of the year that RE8 wasn't going to get any love from the Duders as it came out at the beginning(ish) of the year.. So I'm glad to see it on your list. It's a really great game!
1 Factorio <- I did spend another 100+ hours when the "release" dropped. But this wasn't the most time I put in to a game this year. It's still a really good game that I love. And it's deserved some love for a long time. Since it's finally "out" I think it's time has come.
2 Hades <- great game. I can't beat it 20 times... it's just not happening. Going to watch some videos.
3 Ori and the Will of the Wisps
4 Two Point Hospital
5 Roundguard
6 Murder by Numbers
7 Afterparty
8 Final Fantasy VII Remake
9 Fire Emblem: Three Houses <- Spend most of my gaming time at the end of 2020 and the beginning 0f 2021 playing this 2019 game because...
10 Astroneer <-...I spent most of my gaming time in 2020 playing Astroneer.
If Astroneer and Fire Emblem: Three Houses were 2020 games they'd be #2 @ #3. With the exception of Hades, ever other game on this list is just kinda meh and games that I played (or watched a playthrough on youtube of in the case of FF VII). 2020 was a year of Obsession with a few deep games for me.
With the company transition and the whole shit show that 2020 has been I've been a little down about the video content on GB in the last half of the year (since minecraft streams stopped and no UPF). And that's completely understandable. Things have been "an unprecedented challenge" (that phrase can go fuck right off too)... But with the test they did the other day of a UPF like stream with everyone remote and this awesome piece of thoroughly entertaining content I'd say GB is still a threat in 2021 baby! Looking forward to a lot of great content from these duders!
Also fuck Temple of the Dog - Hunger Strike! That's #2 on my list. (Summer Girls is worse, but just) what a "soulless piece of 90s dogshit"!
@rorie I'm sorry but, how do you actually read the size chart? I assume it is in inches? But I actually don't know. Also, what is TOL? Also, all the measurement descriptions are so weird. A picture would have been helpful. This is confusing. Can someone help me with which measurement shows how long the tracksuit top is and how long the arms are? And, how long are the pants? In S. Honestly, I'm confused.
It's always a bit of a crapshoot when I get the giantbomb clothes. Sometimes they're regular shirts and a 2XL is good and sometimes they're the dreaded "slimfit" that even the 3XL shirts end up my wife's new favorite oversized shirts cuz they don't fit me... Although I do LOVE the hockey jersey. I know it was a pain in your posterior, but it's one of my favorite casual pieces of clothing.
I'm gonna have to agree on the confusing sizing chart here though. Looking up what the heck waistband flat means I'm getting that you should double that measurement to get the waist size. But i'm pretty sure 29 1/2 X 2 does not = 43in of waistband stretch.. I know I wear a size 42 / 44 jeans and have a waist of 45 in. But there's no way in hell I'm trusting that I should order a size M track pants.. size M!? cummon.. what's going on with this thing?

(Hope yer Thanksgiving was a good one! Mine was 3 people and was one of the nicest holidays I've had)
Love Dan and the contribution that he's made over the years to the site. Gonna miss him. Sadly I have zero interest in wrestling so I won't be following him in his new endeavor . But I do wish him the best. I look forward to seeing how Giant Bomb continues to evolve and grow in the coming year..
