The 3DS Games I Loved the Most

Back in 2014, I made a list of my favorite DS games to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the system and this year marks the 10th anniversary of the American launch of the DS’s successor, the Nintendo 3DS. So I thought I’d share another list of the games I had the most fun playing on the handheld in the 2010s.

The Nintendo DS was a hugely important system for me where I discovered so many new franchises and genres that really shaped my taste in games. I don’t think it would be an exaggeration to say that the DS is my favorite video game system of all time. As a follow up to that, the Nintendo 3DS may not seem as exciting in comparison. The variety of games I played on the 3DS is less interesting in some ways than what I played on the DS back in the day but that doesn’t change how much I loved this system. I picked up my red base-model 3DS during my college years and it was basically my primary video game console for a very long time. I have a lot of great memories of collecting Street Passes while at school and playing games in-between classes. It was a great little device and some of the games I played on it are now all-time classics in my eyes.

So here are my favorite 3DS games in the order that I played them. I tried to only include one game per franchise to give the list some variety.
