I like how most of the comments are complaining but still saying they bought the game and love Pokemon. Demonstrating exactly why there's 0 panic from Game Freak to rebuild the whole apparatus from scratch.
Seriously though, I don't think Pokemon is on the level of Fallout or the like in terms of mechanical complexity but I rarely see a lot of understanding for how much work a fully current-gen Pokemon game would need. There's nearly 1000 Pokemon now and making custom models and animations (both battle and in-world ones) for all of them plus an open world and maybe like 50+ unique VA performances is a hell of a lot of work. Not an insurmountable amount of work, obviously, but more than is possible in the 1-2 years between games and wayyyy more than necessary for the game to sell 15+ million copies.
It appears to be quite popular. I'll be interested to see how he keeps the format fresh episode to episode, especially with the episodes being so long. I was happy to see him switch gears with the wine moms bit. He's obviously super talented, but balancing out new content between his own channel and his GB features sounds like a nightmare. Either way, I'm here for it.
Feels like the comments are like 80/10/10 love it/hate it/wtf is this but that's just for people commenting. Personally I still do not understand this and the degree of support and familiarity its getting from comments and staff makes me feel like I'm being messed with. However, seeing other people compare it to Space Ghost (which also confuses me) is calming.
I don't understand this at all. It's a hyper ADHD "talk show" with the guy just doing zany stuff with himself? It doesn't seem to be for me but its been a while since I saw something that I so thoroughly do not get and somehow everyone else is acting like its a reference they all know. Is there something I'm missing other than this being a visual representation of the audio on Dan's crack streams?
@y2ken: I haven't been reading any stuff about their plans for 9 so that's a little disappointing to hear. Nothing wrong with moving on to new ideas but dead-end DLC is no good.
Bummed that the DLC is "pointless" but I guess that's pretty normal. Hopefully it lets them get the ball rolling on whatever's next, assuming Rose is involved in RE9.
Those stupid little thing in Crocs are actually called Jibbitz?! Why the hell would anyone choose that name? Gibbet (same pronunciation) is already a real word and it means a gallows/to hang a body from a gallows.
@ultimaxe: Dan often sets the bar for his explanations at a level that he wouldn't really understand and definitely would not remember. Like "butter is milk/cream that you basically just shake really hard until the watery part can be taken out" is a good enough explanation for pretty much everyone. Setting the bar to "Butter is a water-in-oil emulsion resulting from an inversion of the cream, where the milk proteins are the emulsifiers" serves no real purpose.
