Great pick! So many of those practical effects hold up EXTREMELY well. I had seen parts of this as a kid in the 80s but never seen it in its entirety as an adult - genuinely impressed with a huge majority of the visuals - most are still creepy/gross as hell by modern standards..
I don't know what's more obnoxious: people rushing to the comments to repeatedly point out the extremely obvious technical issues that we all notice and have already been pointed out, or the armchair producers telling the crew what they should do differently to personally please them. Some of y'all are acting like complete shitheads and that's a far bigger bummer than a change to the podcast format or some microphone problems.
Since it's clear some of y'all must not be premium members, I would caution you against watching Unprofessional Fridays if you do ever join if you're this bothered by a mic being out for a minute. Then again if you do decide to check out more GB content you might discover that Jan is in fact an absolute pro and MVP of GB West for the past couple years, and you'll feel extremely foolish.
You're missing the 3rd option, which is the defenders like yourself rushing in to shut down anyone complaining about the site changes over the years. I suppose in our modern black and white world it's impossible to acknowledge there are some valid critiques from people who don't see the world exactly the way you do.
To address your second paragraph regarding UPF, it used to have notable charm because it was a change of pace from the normal routine of GB. Now UPF is basically the site format. That's just an observation, not a hot take.
It's not unreasonable for a site to evolve over time, but you're also going to have fans are less interested than they used to be. It's fair to accept those criticisms, it's also just as fair that some people may need to come to the realization that the site isn't really targeted at them anymore. There's nothing wrong within being super into the site 8 years ago, very into it 4 years ago, and mildly into it today. People change - both the site staff and the viewers.

The Apple Arcade trial is very very clear about how it works when you initiate the cancellation. I just set a reminder on my phone after seeing their language.
That being said,it does suck that they deviated from what is the fairly typical cancellation handling. It’s not unheard of though.

I’m glad they’ve really elevated the wheel. I’m back on board with the series now that it’s just an ever-escalating series of one-off gags on the wheel. I can’t wait for next week, where the wheel lands on “Time Travel!”, the camera fades to black for a moment, and when the scene resumes, the people playing the game are Vinny, Alex, and Austin, and there’s no table.
I would then love a 5 minute segment where Vinny has to painstakingly describe that he had to build a time machine, travel back in time, eliminate his younger self, and force Alex and Austin to play DK64 "because Dan Ryckert said so. "
