"So i should check the BIOS to ensure the Sli is not running when I have the 4870x2 in?When I first installed the 4870X2, all I did was install the card, boot up and install the drivers and it went fine. It was only a couple of days later when he tried to boot up from cold and it didn't do anything besides the power light amber flashing. It does boot up every now and then but it's not booting up more often than it is.And the weird part is that it's still doing the same AFTER I put the 8600s back in.... "
Hmm, if it works sometimes then it's propably not up to Bios settings, but you should still definately check them. And yeah I think SLi should be disabled when using a single Ati GPU if such an option exists, never had a crossfire/sli mobo myself so dunno how it is. Check the mootherboard manual if it says anything about it.

You could try the card in a different pci-e slot as well(and check the corresponding bios settings), not that it should matter if they're both x16s but worth a shot.

Unfortunately random boot up problems like that are often in fact related to the PSU, I've had a few give me trouble similar to that towards the end of their life cycle. I guess it could be that the 4870x2 was too much for the old PSU and it did permanent damage to it. But I'd still check everything before blowing more cash on a new one.

Like ^ mentioned amps are critical with PSU, and there are huge quality differences between different brands, but I'd be surprised if that wouldn't be enough, it's a pretty high-end package from what I recall.

And if not I doubt it broke it either if the old GPU doesn't work it's prolly something else, tho anything is possible.
- Check bios if there are some settings for SLI or the pci-e slots in general that you need to change.
- Also if the bios settings changed and it has raid or something see that those aren't screwed up, and use default clock speeds.
- Especially check the cables.
- You could try unplugging unnecessary devices. (1x8600, 1xRam stick etc.)
- Remember to erase the old drivers.

Some people have awfully negative attitude about this. Yeah it won't sell much and yes it will be pirated but they aren't gonna make any more money by not releasing it on PC either. Let the companies worry about the profits, good game is a good game no matter the sales. DMC4 was solid on PC, personally I like most PC gamers am not into this type of games but nice for those who want to try them out and don't have a console.

I like the different style options, we've already seen them in few games before and it's a nice feature, nothing life altering tho. And GFWL is not an obstacle for releasing over Steam.

I liked Spore for the first play through, but it had barely any replay value so I kinda regret paying the full price for it and no way I'm gonna spend more for expansions. The 3D screenshots are cool tho, want more of those in the future.

I thought it was going be sort of a console remake of BF1942, and not saying that as a bad thing. In any case I think it's the least interesting of the upcoming BF games which there seems to be plenty.

Just sort them in task manager by their memory or cpu consumption and start closing them down, if it truly is "vital" you propably won't be able to shut it down. This way you can quickly test whether the background processer are the actual problem or not, if not just restart and they'll be back on.

Also delete stuff you don't need, clean registry, run virus/malware scanners, defrag, update drivers, check bios settings(fsb) and so on.

Something like NetLimiter2 is good for checking and limiting the internet usage of different programs and processes.

Don't really have any strong favourites or they change all the time, but to mention few Ride The Lighting, Fight Fire with Fire, Fade To Black, Escape, The Unforgiven II and Enter Sandman stand out for me a bit.

A shame. I'm not one into MMOs but I'm a big fan of stargate and thought this was looking promising. Oh well, maybe someone more capable will do something with the IP, a series with so many seasons and fans you would think someone would bother to make something from it, they've done it with far crappier shows.
