She's a really fantastic boss, and was an absolute gut check for me. That third form in particular requires a degree of precision and poise that most bosses in the game do not demand up to that point. Took me a ton of attempts, more than any other before her. You are so close, don't give up! This is from a guy who beat Ludwig on the first try, which didn't feel like luck but might have been! It probably just depends on build style / weapon choice... In hindsight, I see the seeds of the Sekiro design philosophy being planted with bosses like Maria and the next friend you will meet.
That next friend..... I have quite the history with the next friend on your journey. I cannot wait for you to meet them.
Started a new character about a week ago. You inspired me to do so! Went for Bloodtinge early because unless that stat is 20 or beyond, a vast majority of the ranged weapons in the game are only good for parrying / visceral attacks. Plus, Quicksilver bullets are more valuable than gold, especially with a Bloodtinge build where you use more. So yeah, that cannon is kinda ass either way since it chews through ammo and your damage scaling is nonexistent (your once-summoned League compatriot the Madaras Twin possesses an even more ludicrous Bloodtinge gadget anyway). My favorite of all of them is Evelyn - basically just a pistol that scales much better with Bloodtinge than the standard pistol, and it's fantastic if you've decided to put points there. But yeah, like BestyHammar stated above: at this point, this and Arcane are a wash. Focus on that Holy Blade and your health, and if you NGP, consider points in one of the two bottom stats.
Haven't played it since the release year. Pleasantly surprised how well this is holding up.
I really like the quick glimpses of stressed-and-overwhelmed Shepard. Humanizes the character in a meaningful way instead of just relegating her to a cipher for the player's choices. Didn't see that a lot in the first 2 games, great as they are.
