basically they are coming out and saying that they are looking to create permanent franchises and that new investments into a high quality game are always encouraged

with this and then the trademark that was refilled for bully, seems they are looking to get more rockstar games out of rockstar than just banking on gta 5

once the games are great it is a smart move, especially a sequel to red dead, as that game sold a ton of copies.

I'm still surprised a third game hasn't been announced yet with the numbers Red Dead Redemption sold....

I cannot imagine what they would do with an RDR sequel...I can't see any way they can meaningfully iterate upon those mechanics and that setting, apart from a graphical upgrade. While I can't imagine they would pursue this course, as it would step on GTA's toes quite a bit , I think a modern-set RDR game would be awesome, taking cues from Justified and No Country for Old Men.

As long as it's not much of a direct sequel I'm all for it. Westerns are always beautiful movies with a lot of great dialogue, even when the plots boil down to fairly racist, American Exceptionalist and macho perversions of real life. RDR captured what a western can be at it's best and I'd have faith in Rockstar to do it again. Just because they made one game set in the wild west doesn't mean they can't make another one.

Red Dead Redemption was a near perfect game in my book. If done correctly, I'd have to say I'd be more excited for a sequel than any other game.

Hopefully this one will have less unbearably boring cow herding missions.

Saw this coming. Red Dead sold too many copies and made too much money to NOT make a sequel.
