Well, that email blew up in my face. I knew that was a possibly ill-advised and douchey thing to write, and I still did it. To be fair, I tried to be polite and I think it’s a stretch to say that I’m “pissed”. Nuance, length, and the notion of barking up the wrong tree are tricky, plus this wasn’t just last week, so I get that it seems like I’m stewing. This was more of an excuse to plug bands I dig, and if I was triggered by LB, there would be innumerable others that are also unspeakably lame. But, hey, life’s too short to sweat this stuff.

Armored Core weirdo off in the corner here. I'm incredibly excited for a new game in the series and also have a morbid curiosity to see how it will be received by modern From Software fans. You know, the kind who think they've only ever made Souls games and not insane shit about how the moon is haunted.

I'm surprised Jeff missed "boards" as another early name for levels, it was around the same time as screen or rack, from the early days when a level was one screen, like Pac Man, and I believe they say it in Pac Man Fever.

Isn't it anachronistic to associate Sonic 2 with chili dogs, didn't that come from comics or cartoons or something much later?

I dont have any hatred for Limp Biskit but I could do with Guilty Gear soundtracks not sounding like them.

As someone who is also very trusting / gullible, the Wordle segment made me want to sink into the ground on Jess’ behalf. You truly hate to see it.

@neuroflare: It's hilarious because he has been talking in front of a camera and on podcasts for years. There are surely instances of him fucking up. And then you can factor in the sheer scale of the viewership of Wheel of Fortune. It's literally orders of magnitude larger than the viewership of Giant Bomb--that's going to make people more nervous. Importantly, the vast majority of the contestants on game shows aren't people who are paid to talk in front of an audience. They don't have that skill. This would be like picking a profession, having Bakalar train at it for a day, then see how many times he makes a fool of himself. It's gonna be way more than once.

I always start Wordle with "farts" as a matter of principle.

Pretty sure there was promo art from a Sonic game (1/2/3) on Genesis that was him eating chili dogs on a lounge chair or something. I could be wrong and it probably is some thing from the comics that the actual creators of the Sonic games had nothing to do with.

It was a bit surprising to hear Jeff G talk about E3 almost positively for once. I feel like when the cancellation has been announced for the past 2 years, he's been the one to dunk on it the hardest, saying it doesn't need to exist anymore etc. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, I suppose.

@tanookitom: I don't think it blew up in your face. I think they took it in the spirit in which it was written. Yes, they played it up for laughs but, you know, honestly, I think they actually agreed with you. Or at the very least they understand where you're coming from.

So I would say take pride in having written a fun email or lacking that take solace in the fact that absolutely no one will remember it a week from now.

First time I had an email featured on the Bombcast! Glad including Leisure Suite Larry got the response I was hoping for >:D

JNCO pants are on their way back in a big way. My prediction is that 2022 is going to be a huge year for JNCOs and rollerblades. I thought the 90s resurgence had come and gone, but it's only getting started. 2024 is all VR and .mod files in the style of 90s game cracks.

Another thing from the 90s that will rock: The Twisted Metal game is for VR and you can aim guns from within the cockpit, Interstate 76 style. Like an M60 strapped to the dash, you can drive and shoot at the same time. Shooting while driving is much, much easier in VR than on a screen. I genuinely believe that the Twisted Metal game is going to be either full VR only, or have VR as an option. It's a game that makes ten times more sense for a VR game than another try at a flat game.

Funnier still is that he misquoted/misremembered bits of videos in Bak 2 Skool constantly and that's not even a high pressure environment.

Ok, maybe dealing with Dan is, but still! I like me some Bakalar but he does love to toot his own horn.
