We Talk Over: Super Mario Brothers Movie Trailer 2

I think people overestimate how easy it is to make a billion dollars. Even with a Mario property…that said, I also think nostalgic older people think it's worth that. Despicable me made a billion sure, some marvel movies don't make a billion, even superman movies sometimes don't make a billion. Superman is more well known then Mario…about 80 years old. One of the highest selling comics after superman and batman is one piece, and it sells in its home local well, still doesn't do that well. It will have to be a superb month to make a billion. Much like top gun it could also just be a good movie and something people were craving. I assume reviews will be 7-8/10 focused on it not being super original, but fan service is nice…rolled in with the usual hot take that it's busy and typical kid movie stuff.

I can't wait for Luigi to hear about memes from the president for 2 hours.

Even if this movie is 100% fan service it can't be terrible, because that is some very pretty looking fan service.

I think they're being a little harsh on Chris Pratt. He's fine. Charlie Day is just doing a Charlie Day voice. He doesn't sound like Luigi, but he's getting heaps of praise from the GB staff.

The affected mario one liners sandwiched between regular Chris pratt voice is weird.

@lyndbako: I think it’s more because Charlie Day doing Charlie Day makes sense for Luigi. Chris Pratt as Chris Pratt comes across as an odd choice for Mario. Don’t get me wrong, after seeing this, I think Chris Pratt seems totally fine. Looking forward to it regardless!

This looks so much better then i thought it would, even after the first teaser trailer. Illumination have this spot on.

Also makes me think, just Maybe Nintendo will be preparing the launch of the new Switch with a new Mario game for next holiday to strike when Mario fever is at it's highest.

Mario absolutely says "all right, that's a car" at the beginning of this.

Now I'm excited about this. I'm a simple person. Show me blocks and power-ups, and I'll be there. That was pretty much enough to keep me glued to the cartoons back in the day. I'm also interested to see what they do with an expanded Kong clan.

@maikeruwiruson: If you remove the "weird Italian clown" affectation that Charles Martinet added to the character, Mario isn't much more than a fairly generic, stoic hero character. Which is right in Pratt's wheelhouse

I'm hoping Peach gets to be a person for once.
