I'm kinda excited, especially after spending 20 minutes with the viral site. It has gotten me really curious about the story. And since it seems like it will be set about 7 years after the first, it also makes me wonder why is Rapture still up?

Sick cover. Wow the Big Sisters are impressive. That just got me pumped up for this game. Cant wait to get my issue.

I don't get how people are dismissing this without even knowing what the Big Sisters will be like.

I think they should have kept it at one game, it's not like there's much left to explore in the city after the first game, it's only really the crazies left.

I'm also in the crowd that thinks a Bioshock sequel probably should not exist. That game had very much a self-contained story, with a beginning and a definitive (if a bit rushed) end. Now would have been their chance to go ahead with an actual new System Shock game, so if they screwed that one up, they could always default back to "hey, but we still made Bioshock!"

I mean, there are probably plenty of opportunities for interesting new plasmids and gameplay, but it's the story part I'm worried about.

I find this to be a retarded attempt to come off as perhaps edgy, or maybe even creative. Neither of which this announcement succeeds in, considering these things will probably be bat-shit insane to kill and run away from, since the thing is stripped down to barely any armor, and has this moronic kid strapped onto it like a baby strapped onto the back of an adult. Hell, maybe the thing is actually a grown up little-sister, which was featured in the teaser trailer for Bioshock 2. Now that would be interesting, considering I don't expect a thinned-out teenage girl to be packing a huge ass suit of armor.

They created an amazing story with the 1st one, why all the doubt? They just had one in them for this world and thats it?

I hope they follow the original team's lead and take some risks.  At this rate there will just be a maniacal dentist, a level in a sauna and the ability to shoot mosquitos from your nostrils.

I'm not veiling it very well, but I think Bioshock should have been left for 4-5 years before reviving it... at the very least.

This news doesn't mean they got rid of the Big Daddy's. Hopefully they will make a return appearance.

Cool, the design looks good and as long as the writting in Bioshock 2 is as good as the first game's then I'm sure they'll fit right in.  I am hoping they are different than the Big Daddys in some way though other than just fighting style.  Geesh...I might just have to buy that copy of Game Informer...Bioshock was my favorite game of that year and one of my favorite games of all time...possibly my favorite story of all time...that is if it weren't for the somewhat slapped on ending.

I see the case for Andrew Ryan still being alive (same reason why you rezzed every time you died in game) but I don't see how they'll explain Big Sisters after never seeing anything on them in the first game. Maybe you'll play an entirely new character after an extended period of time has gone by in rapture.

i love bioshock. it's one of my favorite games of all time, which is why i believe they should have only made one entry. the original had a very good story, one that tied up pretty much all of the loose ends players might have had (with a little persistance on the player's part, anyway.) it just felt very complete, even if the end was kinda lame. not only will it be hard for a sequel to live up to that kind of innovation in story and gameplay, but to exceed it will be even more difficult. that said, if 2K does make an excellent game out of bioshock 2, i'm certainly onboard. it's just that i don't really see the need for this game to exist, other than money...

The moment i saw that picture it made me worry about Bioshock 2. But for a plus ill finally have a reason to read gameInformer!

Maybe it'll only be a portion of the game in Rapture, which would be interesting in some ways.
Anyhow, I'm totally digging Bioshock 2's premise. Cant wait to play.

As long as it's new parts of Rapture and keeps the atmosphere and gameplay of the orginal I'm already sold. Please be on the PS3 on day one.
