Giant Bomb Is Attending The L.A. Podcast Festival

For anyone too lazy to look at the schedule, the Giant Bomb panel is 7PM-9PM PDT Saturday night.

$20 is a little steep for a 2 hour GB podcast (don't care about any of the other podcasts), so I think I'll wait for the audio version to show up here.

I wanna know where the crew is going to be hanging out outside of podcast hours. We should do a thing!

I definitely recommend tuning into "With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus" and "SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins" for anyone that likes to laugh.

Pretty sure Jeff said that this podcast will go up for free after a certain amount of time has passed, for those crying about a paywall.

I've had my live stream ticket for a while. Can't wait. There's a ton of podcasts I listen to that are going to be there.

It's actually kind of weird seeing Giant Bomb in the midst of all these other ones. I don't know why. Maybe because a lot of the other ones are people in movies and TV and then there's Giant Bomb which are a bunch of dudes who've been doing this online thing for a long time.

It's like when Pacino met Deniro in Heat. It's weird. I can't explain it any better.

It's worlds colliding to be sure. One of the hosts on the Nerdist podcast said on the latest episode that he was going to LA Podfest more or less just to see the Giant Bomb guys do their show.

I want to go but Saturday is sold out. I could buy a weekend pass but that's like $130 to see GB and MBMBAM

Stoked! Super cool to see GB in this event with a million other shows I love. Though almost all my favs are on the same time slot as another. Which I guess will at least prevent me from watching for like 12 hours straight.

@cornbredx: I think it might've been Matt? My problem with The Nerdist is that I listen to it so infrequently that I have big trouble connecting the voices to the people. Same thing I had with 8-4 Play for over a year before it finally clicked for me.

@slab64: I'm sure there is a more positive way to pass this information on without using the word "crying". There are people who would impulse buy a less than 2 hour segment (effectively) without advice that they could be (a) in the wrong timezone to see it live, and (b) that's a lot of money for podcasts they possibly won't enjoy or listen to. In that case, then I think a general opinion comment in the chat is useful. If they then go on to ignore the advice anyway then they are more of a fool.

Didn't you guys offer a red Giant Bomb logo shirt? Something about a printing error you liked so much you made it a real shirt? I don't see it on the site anymore.

@kanerobot: I've been listening back through Adventure Zone and am kind of glad I missed it from the beginning because it's awesome background for the work day and it's a good binge, but damn a live one could be bonkers. Wish I were attending/ had nothing at all to do but watch this wknd.

After a lot of back and forth, decided to pull the trigger on a LA Podfest ticket. Aside from the Bombcast, I do really like The Indoor Kids. $20 seems like a lot for two podcasts, but if GB gets some of that, I suppose it is worth it.

Dang I was just going to ignore it because i thought it was only GBWest but if vinny is there i want to listen now. I guess I'll wait till its up on the site though.

The amount of SquareSpace over the schedule is hysterical to me.

The site is working fine, for anyone that wants to know and is worried because some people are spreading misinformation.

They fixed it last night. Apparently Godaddy dropped the ball or something. It's working now, though, so it's whatever at this point.

I can't confirm personally, but I've been told from a friend that Go Daddy underdelivered the number of concurrent streamers they were able to handle. So, they have apparently been streaming via Periscope.

I'm not trying to defend them or anything. I just got lucky by loading the site in finally last night I guess. I haven't had a problem since.

I was still having problems, but they recommended clearing your cache for the site. Fixed it right up for me. If you don't, it might still be hitting the old server.

I couldn't load at all last night but got in fine just a little bit ago. Gonna have to watch the doug loves movies, and indoor kids from the video archives.
