How Bungie Has Changed The Controls In Halo: Reach

I always play Green Thumb, I like being able to spin around while melee, that way if I miss I can quickly re-align myself.

Ya the first time I tried to melee I was killed and I was like "wtf??? I pressed B!!!"

I love that they have moved the re-load button back to where it is supposed to be, but, please move melee back as well. :|

Green Thumb looks like what I would use.

After playing about 5 hours, I actually like the default controlls the best. I feel that I can access everything without having to worry about moving my thumbs too much. RB melee is the best!

Boxer seems like the way to go... if I'm switching grenades, weapons, or reloading I don't need my thumb on the right stick... and if the jetpack works how I think it works I could use it as opposed to jumping, so I'll never have to use the A button to jump. I've got all the necessary buttons on the triggers and the shoulders, letting me really wail on some ass.  Quick and effective.

Doesn't matter to me, because I have a mouse/keyboard adapter.

Default looks good to me, I would still rather that left trigger was zoom in and right analogue stick was melee.

Huh so Recon is the Halo 3-esque one, but the default is a more traditional shooter setup. Probably going to stick with recon.

Since Halo: Combat Evolved I've been playing with my right hand in a claw shape so that I could always be quickly ready to turn, shoot, or melee (thumb on thumbstick, side of index finger used for face buttons, and middle finger working the trigger and later bumper).
 
That I would put in a Halo game and not play that way by default is so strange to me I really can't wrap my mind around it right now.  I'll probably try default but find myself charging up behind a dude and swapping grenades at his head for awhile.
 
EDIT: Oh hey other people in the comments rockin' the Claw, too! 
 
You know what other game I found the Claw was nice for?  Need for Speed Underground, when you had to drag race.  Can hold the accelerator, use the stick to look around for your opponents, and still be able to shift with perfect timing.

yeah, how come some games don't allow you to reconfigure buttons? I don't see the big deal though, just something to get used to.

Recon is the way to go, if your used to Halo 3, just a heads up for people not in the Early access beta

Does Bungie not support Left Trigger Zoom - Right Trigger Shoot out of design or just intransigence?

Wish they would have swapped crouch and equipment for Bumper Jumper, not having to take my thumb off the right stick in CQB is what gives that layout such an advantage. They need to stop being so stubborn about custom controls.

Looks like Recon is the one for me, I just love having reload on RB plus equipment is on LB an easy place to hit in a hurry.

Boxer is the way to go, for thoses not in the early beta.

Bumper Jumper is really strange how the equipment is on a face button, like someone else said, you can't possibly look where you want whilst jetpacking... or turn whilst sprinting... or even move properly whilst active camo... that's a serious flaw!

I'm excited for this game. This surprises me, I thought Halo 3 was gonna be the last of the series for me.

The melee and grenade switch took some getting used to. I kept wanting to hit B to melee and its LB for default...thats the best controls scheme i thought

Night Vision?

I still think Recon looks the best and Default looks like crap. I never tried bumper jumper in Halo 3, and have no interest now.

Green thumb for me. I can't stand having zoom on the right analog stick. But why isn't there an option to have zoom on the left trigger? Geez Bungie!

I'll give the default a whirl when I first jump on, but Recon looks like it'll be more of my cup of tea.

X should be to reload and B should be to melee.

What happened to developers also giving us the option to create our own control schemes?  I really miss that :(

The Halo game has put night vision in its multiplayer and Modern Warfare removed it. This makes me sad.

I've never played Halo. I've only played MW2, K2, Uncharted and Gears all of which have a similar control scheme . Have these always been the controls for Halo or has war changed?
